Pros: It's King, It's Dark Tower. Cons: Confusing without the other books
Summary: I recently decided to read all of Stephen King's Dark Tower series straight through- in order. This would be a first for me, since I had previously read the books out of order. That's right. I read a tale that is confusing when read in order, out of ... read more

Pros: further connecting the known and the un-reality of Roland's world. Great narrative, great characters Cons: Did-a-chick? Dad-a-chad? Dud-a-chum? :)

Pros: Ambitious fiction, compelling characters Cons: Few; perhaps we'd like to know more of Roland's ultimate goal

Pros: Another awesome chapter in the quest for the Dark Tower Cons: Some parts a bit stretched

Pros: Great follow up to the first book. Cons: Leaves you wanting more.
Summary: This follow up to The Gunslinger is one more step down the road to the Dark Tower and one my proverbial notch in the belt of a great author. King shows once again that he doesn't have to be writing horror to write effective and evocative fiction.
