Pros: makes you think like a business owner
Cons: the letter in the appendix gives contrary advice

Summary: This book was an eye-opener for me! I do not have a business mind at all and Gerber showed me how to think like a small business owner. Amazing! I am so glad my friend Tim loaned his copy to me. It is written in the form of a conversation with the author ... read more

Pros: Inspirational, encouraging and easy to digest. A must read for entrepreneurs.
Cons: Lacking in depth, perhaps somewhat to get you onto Gerber's paid programs.

Summary: The E Myth Revisited is one of Gerber's many classic books to help small business owners develop a successful entrepreneurial mindset. In it, Gerber puts forward his beliefs on why most small businesses don't work, and his approach on how to turn that ... read more

  • The most valuable wisdom comes from experience, not books, but experience is harder to acquire.

    Pros: Helpful, but not illuminating.
Cons: Not exactly the Holy Grail of "starting your own business."

Summary: Having read this book, I see it as offering what I would describe more as advice than a plot, i.e. I'd describe it as a "self-help" book. It certainly doesn't qualify as either a novel or a "manual" of any kind. However, it does ... read more

Pros: practical, fast read, essential business reading for EVERYONE in business
Cons: may contain too many stories for people who want to get to the point

Summary: I have read reviews of this book and the people who give negative reviews don't even own businesses! I happen to be a business owner and I resonate with everything this book is talking about. It is one of the top 5 books that EVERY entrepreneur (and ... read more

Pros: Easy read, exposes pitfalls, many helpful ideas and many paradigm shifts, excellent!
Cons: Challenging concept for my business of one. No Index.

Summary: This is an easy read that took me two days to get through. It’s simple, repetitive and just the way I like it. But by no means simplistic. To me, it is well written, when the author gets their ideas across quickly and makes them seem easy. The book gets ... read more

    Cons: None

Summary: I purchased the 2003 CD version of this book. It consists of 2 CDs with 12 tracks. I have heard many people mention how good “The E-myth Revisited” is, and how every person going into business must read or listen to the CD. After having listened to it, I ... read more

Pros: Good story book / motivational tool for really green, no business / managerial experience people
Cons: Long-winded, common sense badly dressed up as Nobel prize winning innovation

Summary: I got really excited when I started reading this book. It was recommended by a friend who actually owns a small business, so I was all pumped and primed to read it. I deflated about half way through the 2nd chapter. As a chartered accountant who's ... read more

    Pros: helpful facts
    Cons: not enough detailing

Summary: This book doesn't go fully into details but basically gives you the point of why and how u should go into business. One thing i really got out of it is that you shouldn't open your own business if you don't plan on organizing but plan on working their.

  • Great book, I feel lucky to have stumbled upon it!!!

Pros: Great focus on "the system". Demystifies Small Business Ownership
Cons: Some shameless plugs of the author's website and consulting services.

Summary: At the core of the philosophy of this book lays the following concept: Your business IS your product. Very interest idea, obvious, yet often misunderstood. Look at Wal-Mart, what do they sell? The same stuff that is available everywhere else
