Pros: The first Spenser novel. Fun to see how the series has changed.
Cons: Dated references.
Way back in 1973 Robert Parker wrote his first novel about Spenser. Having read tons of his novels, I never thought to seek out the first to see where it all began. It's amazing that so much and so little has changed.
