The Minstrel Show - Little Brother Wipes Away The Blackface

by madtheory Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Oct 17 '05
Pros: Excellent production, dope rhymes from Phonte, good guests, well-executed concept.
Cons: Big Pooh’s raps are still boring as hell.
As even the mass media outlets once dedicated to accurate representations of black life join in with the popular portrayal of Hip-Hop as an endless parade of less-than-musical pimps, hoes, gangstas, and thugs, (BET’s answer to The Apprentice? ...

"Welcome to the Minstrel Show: The Biggest Colored Show on Earth"

by poeticone16 , Sep 17 '05
Pros: 9th Wonder's beats, Big Pooh and Phonte's rhymes, hilarious skits, etc.
Cons: Nadda
In the Spike Lee flick Bamboozled, TV show writer Pierre Delacroix comes up with the idea of creating a minstrel show, centering around two homeless black people who wear blackface, because his original idea of a middle-class family sitcom was ...

Are you tuned in? (FMHHFIHS pt. 3)

by MajaFiggaz Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Aug 29 '07
Pros: 9th's drum is still as soulful as ever. Great lyrics, guests, beats, and atmosphere
Cons: Gap Between Pooh & Te starting to show
The Re-Birth of MajaFiggaz Saturday, September 17th 2005. Two days before the worst day I would spend in Iraq occurred, in which I would watch two good friends bodies airlifted home in what is deemed the "Angel Flight" I took a chance on a ...

Pros: "Dope beats, dope rhymes ... what more do y'all want?"
Cons: If you find one, please_let me know... so I can beat some fuckin'_sense into you!
Little Brother has got to be one of the fastest rising rap groups in recent history. One day, they're just another trio of nobodies from North Carolina and the next day, they're the most beloved group in the underground. It seems like it was only ...

From Listening on the radio to Going to The Minstrel Show

by dorian9 , Sep 22 '05
Pros: 9ths Original Beats, dope samples, Phontes Lyrics, Poohs delivery, lots of fun and soul, guest
Cons: no change of pace, some songs lack replayability, almost no diversity
Lets flash back to 2003 shall we. That year 50 Cent was introduced and praised as raps biggest new story. While he seemingly took home every new artist award in the mainstream there was a trio of guys who seemed to be overlooked. In all ...

It Just So Happens, LB doin what they love to do.

by sharpys , Jul 04 '06
Pros: Quality Production, Excellent Rhymes, Consistency
Cons: Some Pointless Skits.
In time of commercialism and spinning wheels, one rap trio stands above the rest, and that is Little Brother. Backed by the purely beautiful production of 9th Wonder, the smooth flow of Big Pooh, and the hard hitting rhymes of Phontigga, LB delivers ...

Little Brother is older sibling of Hip-hop that lesser artists should be like

by anwar215 , Oct 27 '05
Pros: Exceptional lyricism, varied topics, relates more to the lives of the everyday hip hop fan
Cons: Production that relies heavily on samples and often sounds redundant
Little Brother's "The Minstrel Show" is a must for all lovers of Hip-hop music... not Rap music. (If you don't know the difference, you're probably a fan of mere rap music, for true Hip-Hoppers know what it is) If you are 18 or younger, you most likely ...

'Little Brother' would like to welcome you to 'The Minstrel Show'
by westmini ,Jan 29 '06
Pros: 9th wonder beats, phonte and big pooh
Cons: skits, 1-2 songs
Little Brother in their time, have come out with three albums in their time; 'The Listening', 'The Chitlin Circuit 1.5', and 'The Minstrel Show'. All of them were 9th wonder productions, which is a plus plus! 9th wonder kills this cd with his hands and talent. Phonte and Big Pooh step up BIG to the mic, and drop nothing but rap skill on this.
