Snag Bag good for dry country

by twomedicine , Dec 16 '01
Pros: Lightweight.
Cons: Zipper snags, down clots and cold spots.
I am reviewing a Big Kazoo a larger model than the Blue Kazoo, but is similar. I bought this model due to its size, 37" x 90", and is perfect for me. I am about 230lbs and 6'2" and finding a bag large enough is tough. However, this bag has drawbacks....

A Timeless Classic: North Face's Blue Kazoo

by pageclot Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jan 08 '01
Pros: Warm, light, compressible to the size of a large football
Cons: When wet, doesn't keep you warm, slightly confining.
Summary: A warm sleeping bag, at a reasonable price.

Background

After my first few camping/canoeing trips in the early 1990's, I was getting tired of borrowing sleeping bags, or using my too-small Mountain Equipment...

Small and Comfy

by chaeno , Mar 28 '00
Pros: Small, light, comfortable
Cons: Snagging zipper, continuous baffles
I basically bought a Blue Kazoo because I was looking for a durable, light down bag that wouldn't put me much further into debt. I found it on closeout for $100, and I count that among the best $100 I ever spent. The model that I have (~1998) is rated...

comfortable

by LeeCrawford , Jan 21 '00
Pros: comfortable sleeping bag
Cons: could be longer
The blue kazoo is a wonderful sleeping bag. I have been going camping for a long time now and have never had a decent sleeping bag that I could sleep well on. Finally I bought the blue kazoo sleeping bag and the answers to all of my sleeping problems...

One of the best over-all

by phosphor_x , Nov 30 '99
Pros: Lightweight, small, warm
Cons: a little too small around the middle
I have had my blue kazoo for over 5 years now and it still works great. Yes, mine is a little outdated but it still has the same basic design: a light-weight, highly compactible, warm sleeping bag. If it gets wet, it dries out relatively fast. The...

Very versatile sleeping bag

by mtan , Aug 25 '99
Pros: Lightweight, highly compressible
Cons: As with all down bags, can't get it too wet
I was looking for a 3-season sleeping bag and I've found it. This bag rocks - I've owned one other sleeping bag, a synthetic, and this bag is far superior. Nothing beats its versatility. I've used it in 45 degree weather in Northern California, at...

Great Sleeping Bag!

by sabrina , Aug 12 '99
Pros: great value, lasting power and quality
Cons: none!
I have had a blue kazoo now for almost 18 years. My dad started taking me backpacking when i was 7 years old, and at that time he bought me a blue kazoo.

The sleeping bag has lasted beautifully. It stuffs down to a tiny north face stuff sack...
