Pros: The most informative book on travel in Mexico on the market. Cons: It's too full of information (and therefore too large) to fit into your pocket.
I will attempt to do this book justice not by recording in exact detail its numerous aspects, but by my own experience with the book and how it helped a poor college gringo thrive and explore Mexico on just dollars a day.
Pros: Insightful information on Mexican society and culture and travel Cons: You may want to supplement it with a book of hotel/restaurant recommendations.
You probably know that tortillas have two sides, but can you name them? If you can't and if you didn't know that each side is different and has a name, you haven't read The People's Guide to Mexico by Carl Franz.
