Pros: Super stable. Fun, fun, fun! Cons: Poor or wet riding conditions.
Ill start this off by saying that I have the balance and coordination of a three-legged cow. I cant begin to skateboard, rollerblade or ride a scooter. Why then did I buy a Trikke? Probably for the same reason you are considering one; they ...

Pros: Well built, high quality construction, excellent solid urethane wheels, folds up quite small. Cons: Can pitch the rider, dangerous on roads, can't do hills, needs a wide path.
My wife and I recently bought the Trikke 8 based on all the "glowing reviews" and massive marketing. We had all the kids (who are also proficient in skating/skateboarding) try it out too and all agreed it is only good on flat surfaces as any sort ...

Trikking Around
by dchuka ,Jan 14 '04
Pros: High quality hardware, very stable ride Cons: Not sure where I'll get replacement parts other than the manufacturer.
I bought my 14 year-old daughter a Trikke 8 in October 2003. Since then we fight over who gets to ride it next! It is a very sturdy piece of equipment and is stable to ride. If you in-line skate or downhill ski, you'll find the sweet spot that put you in the zone pretty quickly. Going downhill with the Trikke is a Blast! You carve turns and control your speed by turning just like skiing.
Going uphill was very difficult at first but we can now go up inclines with no trouble. Riding the Trikke causes a stir whereever you go. People always stop and ask what makes it go and find it hard to believe that it's just muscle power.
We love our Trikke!

Our first Trikke 8
by bethm1 ,Dec 26 '03
Pros: Fun to ride! Cons: Going up any incline is difficult!!
The Trikke 8 is a very different looking scooter. My children received the Trikke 8 for Christmas; and they love it. It took some time to learn how to ride the Trikke 8, but once you get going, it is a smooth and fun ride. I do not feel as if I am going to fall, as I do when I try to rollerblade or use my sons skateboard (I never had that kind of balance). Climbing inclines of any size is very difficult. The slight incline in front of my home is hard, but not impossible. I do not see myself tackling hills any time soon. My friend who is into exercising has climbed hills with the Trikke 8 and she said it was a workout, and you will feel it later.
I bought the Trikke 8 from toysrus.com for $199.00 with free shipping, it cost a little more then other places, but after trying to buy it from tvmarket.net, and being left hanging and unsure if, they even planned to send it. I decided the peace of mind was worth the extra $10.00.

Trikke 8 for a fun workout.
by bill45 ,Sep 04 '05
Pros: Inexpensive, sturdy, fun, and a great exercise device. Cons: Takes a while to get the motion down.
I have the Trikke-8 version 2 (3CV) with 8" slick wheels. Got it four weeks ago for around $190 delivered. Set up was very easy, just minor assembly and brake adjustment. I'm a 62 year old male, tired of pounding my feet walking, but looking for a good work out. After a couple of days getting the feel of the strange motion required, my muscles began to feel the workout. It works legs, arms, back muscles, lungs, and heart. Hills are a challenge, but getting easier. Seems safe, even at high speed on down hill runs. It draws attention, but comments are favorable. Just get one and have some fun exercising. I'm so hooked now I don't want to miss a day of riding.

Getting better with my Trikke 8
by gary-gnu ,Jan 13 '04
Pros: Well built, stable Cons: Needs a smooth hard surface
The more I practice riding my Trikke the easier I find the going. Up hills (slight inclines) was very hard at first but I find that once I gain a little momentum and find that "sweet spot" that I can make decent headway going up - not very fast but still moving forward. This machine does provide a fairly good workout for a 57 year old man and it is fun looking for new places to ride.
I bought my Trikke from buychoice.com for $146.

I love this!
by johnmcm ,Aug 31 '05
Pros: The most fun mobile machine I've ever owned. Cons: You need a flat surface has going uphill is difficult, but not impossible.
We've had our Trikke for about a month now and it's one of the most fun things I've ever owned. You'll need to be patient for the first couple of days until you figure out how to build up speed. Anyone can do this as my mom, wife, friends have all hopped on and loved it. I can't say enough about how much fun it is to ride compared to a bike. People are always asking us about it as we zipped down the bike path. We're going to get another one so we can ride it together. You'll be impressed with the quality. I bought mine on eBay for around $65.

Be warned
by cubitt ,Dec 03 '07
Pros: On a smooth, flat surface, it's kind of fun. Cons: Surface must be smooth with no incline.
I won't dispute what others have written here, but will add and embellish. My wife and I got the Trikke T8 and gave it a good try. We live in the area shown in the Trikke instruction video, and found that the least incline on the bike path at the beach very strenuous. Were it just me, I'd blame myself, but both my wife and I are very athletic, and both found the ride unacceptable. It is also very rough over the smallest cracks or unevenness of the surface. Others have noted this, yet gave the Trikke a high rating; I don't understand this. Getting the kind of surface the Trikke does well on is next to impossible. I think with time, my wife and I could master it, but frankly, our bikes are suddenly looking a lot more attractive to us.

it's the most fun i've ever had while exersizing
by glitwar ,Jun 21 '09
Pros: FUN,FUN,FUN very safe can fit multible t-8's in car Cons: steep learning curve, too many people stop me to ask what ''it'' is
i have 5 t-8's and 1 t-12i have been a trikke rider for over 5 years and still ride the trikke over my expensive bike (3000$)my t8"s have been my favor et (the t 12 is just too big, can;t fit in car)i can ride 20 miles or just do figure eights in the driveway and have a blast the whole time.i really like going to the rail to trail and watch the stunned faces of people unstrapping their bike from their cars while i quickly pull out 2 trikke's have them snapped into riding position and am riding in under 20 sec. i can easily go up mild hills, but when it becomes too hard i just pull the handle bars back and walk up the hill letting the trikke roll up the hill on the back two wheels ( like a wheelie) every once in a while i make myself ride the bike but i would ALLWAYS prefer to carve instead of pedal
