Pros: Many features, compact, easy to use, seems solidly built Cons: Display hard to read, radio tuning and reception only OK
I received the GE 29297GE3 as a gift this past Christmas (2007) and I am pretty happy with it. My previous alarm clock radio with phone was getting old and the phone and radio were starting to cut in and out, so it was time to replace it. One of the ...

Pros: Lots of good features, that work well, in an easy-to-use design Cons: LCD display is hard to read, is either washed-out or covered with spurious characters.
When my 32-year-old digital alarm clock went west, I was looking for a replacement. This combo unit seemed to fit the bill - it would replace my defunct alarm clock, as well as the cumbersome telephone that I kept on the bedside table. I found it at ...

Pros: Corded in a Cordless world. Sleek and compact design. Cons: Display hard to get just right.
I bought this phone in Walmart ($28.87) 3 days ago and so far I am extremely happy with it. I wanted a clock/radio/caller id all in 1 phone to save space on my nighttable by my bed. I also wanted it to be corded in case there were any electrical ...

Can't recommend ANY GE phone
by kaetheb ,Jul 24 '06
Pros: Low-priced. Many features. Many models available. Cons: NONE of them last very long, corded or cordless.
Just today, I had a power outage in my neighborhood. Completely blew out all of the phone's features (Caller ID, alarm clock, radio). Worse, another GE phone (cordless) in the house did the same. By contrast, the V-Tech phone continues to function as normal. GE phones are cheaply priced but not at all durable compared to their competitors. Steer clear or stock up.

Happy with purchase - rare combination radio/phone
by rebyosef ,Jul 11 '06
Pros: Decent radio reception, clear phone, dual alarm Cons: display either too bright or too dark, alarm off is only temporary
I had a hard time finding a combination phone/alarm clock, and was pleased to come across the 29297. It had all the features I was looking for, including a dual alarm. Radio reception is very good, and the phone sounds fine. Biggest gripes are the display is either very bright (doubles as a night lite, and in a pinch, a reading light!) or on the dark setting it is too dark. The other issue is that when the alarm goes off, if you simply touch the "alarm off" button, it automatically resets for the next day. If you get up on Friday at 6:00 AM, plan on waking up on Saturday at the same time! The alternative is to get into the habit of turning off the alarm with the alarm set switch, which requires three taps of the button. Not a problem, expect each touch makes a beep, and it drives my wife crazy. I would buy another one, only because I haven't found a better one for the price.

Poor product
by lolapearl ,Jan 06 '08
Pros: Phone, clock, radio in small unit for bedside. Cons: The radio reception is horrible.
You can hear one station across the entire AM or FM radio dial. Reception is terrible. Tried three different ones before I decided the product was just BAD. Save your money. The light is glaringly bright on the display screen.
And to add insult to injury, if you answer the phone on this unit, it does not function as a clock or a radio until you unplug it from the wall, plug it in again, and reset everything.
