Pros: Good size for 2 or 3 people, very relaxing, basic but suits our needs. Cons: Not happy with support from dealer, don't like spa chemicals included with package.
Those are the words you can hear coming from the mouth of me or my husband at least once a week for the last year since we bought our Bengal spa. I've always wanted a spa and tried to talk my husband into one for years but he wouldn't bite. So I gave ...
We recently purchased this spa. Originally, we thought that this would be out of our price range, however the dealer was having a sale so we jumped at the chance to get the best value for our dollar. This spa is made by Watkins, who also makes Hot...
Pros: Well made, relaxing and easy to use Cons: Location of controls, filter size
We received delivery of this spa in mid November 2006. It is a simple, well made spa that is a pleasure to use and easy to maintain. As pointed out in one of the other reviews, there are no fancy bells and whistles on this one. It is, however, a good ...
Pros: Well built - quiet operation Cons: Beware of dealer service
Overall I have been very satisfied with this spa. However, the dealer service has been poor. The first problem I had was a faulty circulating pump. The dealer stated "they never go bad" After several calls to him and the factory I finally was able to...
Pros: Overall well built, Extremely quiet Cons: Can't think of any
I've had by Bengal for going on three years now. I purchased it from a HotSprings dealer in Indianapolis Indiana in November of '99. If you have never had a spa before my first advise would be "less is more". Meaning be careful of the amount and...
This is a must buy for anyone who wants a low maintenance, comfortable spa.
This is our first spa and I believe that quality should take first priority so we went with the Tiger River/Hotsprings line. It offered the best in Warranty, serviceability...
Pros: Good seat and jet variety. Easy to care for. Cons: Would like it better in a white finish.
This spa is just great. The seats have different heights and jet variety for everyone. The foot jet in the lounger is great after a hard day. We got it with the freshwater filter system that uses ozone and silver ions for day to day use. No chemical...
Pros: Craftsmanship, performance, ease of use Cons: Bad cupholders
After months and months of research and another few months convincing my wife we should do it, we went ahead and purchased the Tiger Bengal Spa. Why did I wait so long?
I've had the spa a month already and have used it everyday, I lost two...
We bought our Bengal used (3 years old). Looked brand new and worked the same. Previous owner never had to make a service call in all the time he owned it, nor have we. The controls are very intuitive, and instruction booklet complete. All materials are top quality and the synthetic redwood on the sides is easy to maintain in new-looking condition. We are totally satisfied with the Tiger River Bengal and highly recommend it.
A few caveats for those considering any hot tub. The cost of the hot tub is only part of the overall costs. Carefully consider ahead of time:
1. Get an electrical contractor out to give you an estimate of wiring costs. They will vary greatly depending upon your particular house and distance from the electrical service box. Know what it's going to cost in advance. Costs to wire could easily be $500-1,000.
2. If putting the hot tub on a deck, get an informed opinion on if your deck needs to be reinforced to hold the weight (approx. 4,500lbs!). I can almost guarantee that you'll need reinforcement.
Great spa for the whole family by bbarbour3 ,Mar 25 '07
Pros: service, construction, great value for the money Cons: none
I purchased this spa after doing a lot of research. There are several sites that let you know what to look for in construction, power etc. This model fit my budget and needs, the construction is great and the colors are attractive. It is silver/grey outside and blue inside, (my own personal Dallas Cowboys tub) Haven't had a problem and Im going on a year now. I purchased the 110 or 220 model and quickly converted to 220 to be more energy efficient. No problems with jets, heater, or dealer service. In the beginning I had a question about the delivery date, I emailed Tiger Rivers and the next business day I had a rep from Tiger Rivers call me and the owner of the local store, everytime I go in they are helpful and polite. Anyways the spa is fantastic, the service was great and my back feels great.
Great energy efficient and long lasting hot tub. by hoop2125 ,Dec 26 '06
Pros: great energy savings, excellent warranty Cons: jets can break easily
we bought our in 1998 and it's almost 2007 as I'm writhing this review. We have had only one repair since we purchased it. The only complaint I would have is that the jets can break easy. The monthly cost is un-measurable, we unplugged it for the summer and didn't see a noticeable difference in our electric bill. Please keep in mind that this is almost 10 years old and I'm sure todays models are even better than ours. Also this isn't one of those tubs with all the bells and whistles so if you want toys don't look at this one.
Pros: Size and water depth are good. Cons: Not enough jets.
Hot tub is 8 years old. Recently one of the pipes sprung a leak. I called 3 repair men before I could even get one to come and look at it. Reason being, is the labor to find the pipes in all that foam is to time consuming. I helped the 3rd repair man by finding the crack myself to save money on repairs (at $60.00/hr) and it took me 8 hours just to dig out the foam around them. After I did the grunt work and he replumbed the cracked pipes the bill was still over $400.00. If he would have done the work alone it would have cost me over $ 880.00. I learned my lesson. Check repair aspects before buying a hot tub. including access to all plumbing. By the way. My next one will not be affilliated with Tiger River Spas and I would not recommend one to my worst enemy.
Pros: Attractive, easy care, efficient, perfect for a couple. Cons: Can't think of any in particular.
We bought our spa in June 2003. We wanted an efficient spa without too many googaas to deal with. This was an anniversary present to ourselves and we have enjoyed it very much for five years. The heater went out after four years and the dealer took care of it under warranty. I like the ozonator. We replaced the cover only this past year after nearly five years of use. We have enjoyed our evening soaks very much.
We rarely use the jets because we prefer a quiet soak most nights. But sometimes the jets can feel really great.
