This is a really cute mobile. My baby fell in love with it when she was just a few weeks old. However, we are on our second one and last night it quit spinning. There is some sort of defect that causes the mobile to stop turning. I'm going to exchange it for a third in hopes that three's a charm. I wouldn't replace it but we can't return it because it is past 30 days. It's too bad because it is so cute. (BTW, the music drives me nuts too but baby seems to love it. She even looks at it with intrigue and admiration from across the room).

Pros: Entertaining for a little while, bright colors for stimulation.
Cons: Expensive. Not a good mobile for bedtime or naptime use.

This was the cutest mobile I had seen. I couldn't believe the price though. But we bought it anyways. If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have. Yes it's cute and does play classical music, but the songs all sound the same, and it's just not a calming bedtime music. It's good if you want your baby entertained in the crib for about 15 minutes. But thats about it. If I were to buy another mobile I would probably choose one that played softer nursery type music with softer colors.

I did not use the mobile right away due to being afraid of overstimulation. I started actively using the mobile after his first 3 months. At first, he just stared at it - exactly what they are supposed to do. Now, he goes crazy when I turn it on -- his legs and arms start flailing and he screams with joy; it's really cute. When I take him out of his crib he grabs for the dangling balls every time.

I'm not crazy about mobiles. I think bed time and nap time should be just that, with no toys. But, I cracked, when I need a break the mobile does the trick.

I can imagine that having a remote control is a god send for most people. I've never really used it, but I can clearly see the benefits versus winding it up.

I've never changed the batteries - been up now since August 2005.

My wish would be to have a volume control. If your going to have remote control and buttons to pick songs, you might as well make a volume control. I find the volume to be a little loud for a relaxing moment.

The first one of these I got was defective. After about 5 uses it would not spin anymore. I almost did not get another one when I returned it but I had read so many reviews about it I decided to give it another try. I am glad I did! It keeps my boys entertained every morning for about 40 minutes while I shower/get dressed/make bottles. They really focus on it and "talk" to it. I do agree with a previous review about it running through batteries like water! I use it every day and I replace the batteries (3 AA)about every two weeks or so. Also, I would not use this as a soothing go-to-sleep mobile--it is way too stimulating.
