Pros: Long, great feel, able to work the ball Cons: Expensive
I have always been a fan of Titleist drivers, but for whatever reason, have never ended up with one in my bag. That odd distinction has now changed. Yes, my driver search has finally ended.
Pros: Length, Feel, Quality, Looks Cons: Ball Flight a little on the high side.
Either way it is doing a good job. The 983 series Titliest drivers are their first true large driver head. Anybody who has been at the range recently knows that often it is no longer, what driver are you hitting, but K or E? And this is not without ...
With their new 983K Titanium Driver, Titleist has once again revolutionized the design of the driver. Titleist continues to bring out amazing products year after year, first with the 975-D, then the 975-J and now the new 983-K. The new 983-K is loaded ...
Pros: Delivers impressive yardage and tons of forgiveness. Cons: Unfortunately, it is very expensive, and too loud for some tastes.
The day finally came to try the new 983K. What a performance! My previous experiences with Titleist drivers had been short of miserable. The "J" model was always long and way off the fairway. The "VS" was less difficult to control for me, but still to ...
Pros: Long, forgiving and easy to control. Cons: Makes a funny "toonk" sound on dead-center hits.
Recently, I decided to get serious with my golf game (read: I'm was tired of being crummy). I've worked on my swing intensely for the past 6 months and have been able to shave 9 strokes off my handicap (from a 24 to a current 15).
This is my first major purchase of golf equipment since buying my first set of clubs 10 years ago. I am happy to have decided on this driver. The Titleist 983K is one the longest hitting drivers I’ve tried out. I spent every weekend, for 3 months, at ...
Pros: Great feel with solid contact. Easy to draw. Cons: None that I can see.
I got back into golf one year ago after a 30 year hiatus. My handicap is 27. Being age 54, there is no more elasticity or flexibility left in my body, though I keep working at it. As such, the tee box has been an arena of constant frustration with a ...
Titleist 983K review - Awesome, just awesome! by cmasson120 ,Feb 07 '06
Pros: All round quality club - never driven as good in my life. Cons: None - seriously can't fault it.
Recently bought a used 983K from ebay. Have always fancied a Titleist driver and eventually took the plunge.
This golf club looks great and as standard comes with a fantastic Graphalloy shaft. My previous driver is a Taylormade 360. Despite hitting the TM great, the Titleist easily beats it - more cosistency for me and about an extra 20 yards (I'm not kidding). As Titleist drivers are not as widely available as say Taylormade, I have found they attract more attention from your playing partners - ency is a terrible thing.
If only they knew it only cost me £60 for an almost mint club. When you compare this to the new Slazenger, Hippo, Dunlop etc. offerings at the same price the Titleist will always triumph. If you think that 'all golf clubs are the same' you are mistaken. Sure you can get a cheap driver from JJB fo £30 that looks good but believe me I've made this mistake too many times. Read reviews and chose a quality branded product -and you can't get better than the #1 on tour.
Very stiff with great control by apugh ,Oct 18 '05
Pros: Rigid, good control Cons: grip was too spongy.
nice and rigid allowing for less deviation from your swing. grip was somewhat too soft for my likiing, but otherwise and excellent product. price is not too bad either.
Pros: distance and unique trajectory Cons: price (of course)
I recently had my clubs stolen and was in the market for a new set. I tried several drivers and finally ended up buying the Titleist 983K.
Ever since I started playing golf I have always been a Taylor Made man. The 983K changed all of that.
My model has the YS-6 shaft, stiff, and 9.5 degrees loft.
This driver is unbelievable. I have never hit a driver that has this trajectory. It hits high but somehow still manages to get lots of role. I have no idea how. As a result I am hitting drives much farther than i used to. Now if only I could hit them straighter. :)
Pros: GREAT LOOKS, FORGIVING, LOOOONG, AND NOW MUCH CHEAPER Cons: NONE
I HAVE HAD THIS 983K IN MY BAG NOW 3 MONTHS, AND IT IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HIT, AND I HAVE HIT MOST OF THEM. I AM A 4 HANDICAP, 58 YRS OLD, GOT THE ALDILA NV STIFF SHAFT, AND I HIT THIS DRIVER FROM 275 TO 365. I AM ONLY LIMITED BY MY OWN SWING. IT IS A 9.5 LOFT FACE, AND THE BALL FLIGHT IS MID TO HIGHER. MY SWING SPEED IS 110 TO 120 MPH, AND I HIT THE PRO V1 X BALL. THE CLUB IS FORGIVING, BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO HIT THE BALL. THIS CLUB REPLACED MY 975D TITLEIST DRIVER, THAT WAS ALSO A GREAT DRIVER, BUT THE 983K IS LONGER AND MORE FORGIVING. FORGET THE G2. I TRIED IT AND THEIR PROLAUNCH STIFF SHAFT, AND THE BALL WAS MUCH HARDER TO CONTROL. IF YOU CAN'T TELL WHERE THE BALL IS GOING, YOU CAN'T SCORE IN THIS SILLY GAME.
Pros: distance accuracy and control Cons: a little expensive (but worth it). only pretty good for mid to low handicaps
I tried the new Titleist 983K. Before i was hitting the ball around 250-260 yards. When i first hit this driver it literally went 300 yards dead straight. The feel of the club in your hand is unbeatable. I cant stress enough the accuracy and length this driver gives me. i mean it has a pulverizing boring trajectory and flat out rolls. i gained at least 25 yards worth of distance from it and at least 80% more accuracy. this club is great for mid to low handicap players (0-15). I would prefer this to anyone who needs distance, control, and accuracy in their driver. i hit it with a Graphite Design YS-6 X-Stiff shaft in it cut down i think 1-2in. I love this driver and i know you will too.
