  • One Big Reason Why You Should Avoid The Titleist DCI Irons......

    Jan 28, 2002 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Second best iron made, great feel and control, good distance
Cons: Not the best iron around

Summary: Do not get me wrong; the DCI Irons are quite awesome. However, there is one reason why you should avoid them and I will go into it a bit later. A little on my golf expertise (or lack thereof depending on your views) to begin with. I played ... read more

  • Some people reviewing golf clubs are full of fecal material.

    Oct 28, 2002 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: The best irons for the buck. Titleist Quality.
Cons: Might not be good for beginners. Harder to find new. Might be expensive.

Summary: Ok, so I read a few of the reviews on the Titleist 962 irons before I wrote mine. First of all, the guy who was the "#1 reviewer" and other people who have reviewed these clubs sound like they know what they are talking about. Doubt it. ... read more

  • DCI 962

    May 16, 2002 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Feel, cost, control
    Cons: Not for beginners

Summary: One of the biggest influences in any sport is the feel of the equipment. Something that just feels "right" is more likely to help in better performance in that particular sport. Golf is one sport where not only the players skill level but the clubs ... read more

  • Titleist scores a hole in one!

    May 12, 2002 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: perfect weight, easy smooth swing, good distance
    Cons: none

Summary: I don't pride myself on being a great golfer, I'm one who just plays it as a past time with co-workers. And when we hit the range it can get competitive. So when I went to buy a new set of irons I was looking for something that could better my game in a ... read more

  • Great 5-10 handicap clubs

    May 5, 2002 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Forgiving cast cavity, minimal offset for great shot forging
Cons: Heavy weight helps when shaping shots, but decreases comfortable swing speed.

Summary: For golfers who are more avid than most, yet not confident enough for blades...I give you the 962. Titleist stopped making these blades and replaced them with the 762 or 990b's. If you see some in a pro shop or on e-bay, pick them up, they'll make you ... read more

  • An Iron for Almost Anyone

    May 2, 2002 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Good distance, feel, and control.
Cons: Not the best iron for players with a higher handicap.

Summary: I guess that my qualifications for writing this opinion start with having grown up next to a golf course, having an older brother who is a golf enthusiast, having started golfing around the age of 8, and still living 4 doors away from that same golf ... read more

  • My Favorite Irons on the market today.

    Apr 11, 2002 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: Classic look with little offset make these irons great for the better player.
Cons: Really for the better golfer. Handicap less than 18.

Summary: Even though the Titleist 962 irons have been out since 1996 and they are now out of production it is hard to find a better club today. Titleist has released newer models but I donít think that they have really improved that much on the 962's. ... read more

  • A Players Club for almost everyone

    Feb 3, 2002 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Destined to be a classic.
Cons: Slightly shorter distance than other irons.

Summary: In reading from some original Titleist ads from ten years back, DCI stands for "Direct Central Impact". The concept behind the DCI series is that the centerbof gravity is placed precisely in the centre of the clubface for each club. In Titleist's own ... read more

Pros: Excellent Distance, Solid Construction, Great Feel
Cons: Long Irons are tough to hit, Unforgiving

Summary: Titleist has once again done a great job with its DCI 962 irons. These irons come in 3 different versions, the 962, 962A and 962B. The A and B models offer less of a cavity back and should only be played by low handicap golfers who are excellent ball ... read more

Summary: I bought my set of Titleist 962 Irons in August of 1999 and I still love them. I find that for my handicap (9), they are excellent. Mainly, I have never felt a more solid iron in my life, especially for the mid to long irons. I think ... read more

    Pros: Traditional/Great Performance
    Cons: Price

Summary: I have been playing the Titleist 962 DCI's with Dynamic Gold S300 Steel Shafts with Sensicore for a little over a year now. I used to play Hogan forged clubs, so these do have a different feel to them, but after a period of adjustment, I have to say ... read more

Summary: I bought this set of DCI 962 golf clubs about a year ago. Since then I have not found any other club that can even remotely compete with this club. I personally have gone from a 12-handicapper to a 6-handicapper in the year I have owned these clubs. I ... read more
