Pros: Easy to use, portable, clear and understandable screens and voices, not too expensive Cons: Mediocre maps, battery is ok
Summary: I have turned down the GPS option on our last two cars. The reason being that I just did not think we would use it enough to make it worthwhile. I drive a lot for work, but usually to the same places. My wife has a few different routes in her daily ... read more

Pros: affordable, easy to use Cons: just a "basic" GPS; no text to speech
Summary: I was recently in the market for a budget-friendly GPS system for my husband. Neither one of us need a GPS system on a daily basis, but we felt it would be nice to have one for our occasional road trips. Two months before the holiday season, I ... read more

Pros: Good signal acquision, lots of different voices to choose from or download Cons: Difficult to connect to the mount, maps out of date, website and customer service suck
Summary: Good value for an inexpensive, low-end GPS. I compared several models on CDNet.com, and chose this one because of the features at that price level. Also, CDNet shopping allowed me to purchase it from a retailer at about 1/2 the normal price that the ... read more

Pros: Very reliable; Can save frequently used addresses and select fastest or shortest routes. Cons: Does not pick up duplicate street names
Summary: I purchased my TomTom August 2006, when I got a job as a local courier for a delivery company. I simply could not have done this job without TomTom. I really like the fact that I never had to enter the address of my current location; I only needed to ... read more

Pros: Ease of use, good display, great voice directions, portibility. Cons: Display hard to see in direct sunlight, maps about 2 years old.
Summary: I've owned the Tomtom GO300 for about 7 months now (great Christmas gift from the wife!) and I've found it to be really easy to use and very accurate. Open the box, plug in the SD card and turn it on. To aquire a GPS signal takes usually less than a ... read more

Pros: It works most of the time. I rarely get lost anymore. Cons: Obsolete maps. Inadequate manual. Poor docking device. Customer service makes false promises - stalling.
Summary: I have had this GPS for about 8 months and discovered on my very first long trip that the USA maps are so out of date that they should be an embarassment to TomTom. Some addresses in neighborhoods established 40 years ago are not available. Highway ... read more

Pros: Easy to use, accurate, good reception/lock Cons: Dated maps, doesn't always give best route, not "off road" friendly
Summary: As the office expert on GPS technology, my boss asked me to test out his new Tom Tom GO 300 for him and let him know how to setup and use. This gave me a chance to evaluate it as well for a review here. It is perfect for use in the car, especially ... read more

Pros: Good quality hardware. Nice looking display. Intuitive user interface. Cons: Woeful maps organization. Old maps. A little too bulky for truely portable use.
Summary: The TomTom GO 300 is basically a Pocket PC, a GPS device, and a speaker, all rolled into a single unit. It's about 2" thick which means you won't be dropping it into your shirt pocket for a stroll around the city. The user interface is very easy to ... read more

Pros: Accurate speed, distance and handy lap times which can be all stored and reviewed. Cons: Small display not easy to see if eyes not perfect or you are at speed!
Summary: Navman X300. Bought from Dick Smith store in Melbourne Australia for the small sum of $69.95. They only have the X300 model and no Accessories but for the price who cares. The X300 works well and has a lot of options which can be stored for later

Pros: essentially good product Cons: terrible service when it goes wrong (and it will!)
Summary: I really dislike purchasing from companies that route me through to a foreign call centre when things go wrong. The voices on mine slowed down to an almost scary pace, and it stopped picking up the GPS signal totally. So I called the support line and had

Pros: Bright Display, easy touch screen menu system, simply plug & play. Cons: Street name should be announced with next turn instruction.
Summary: I have had a great experience with this unit. I bought it when I took a new job and suddenly had to drive in unfamiliar territory. It is an amazing help. Always knows the roads and even when there is construction, it shows me the alternative routes

Pros: Don't have any since the unit will not work. Cons: No real obtainable customer service by telephone; or by an nonworking website.
Summary: I purchase a TomTom 300 on-line. I could not set-up the unit since insertion of the sd card would only result in a picture showing a card with a x slash through the card. While that would seem to indicate that the card was defective, rather than

Pros: Tele Atlas maps, Simple to use Cons: Entering a new location can take a while when you are new to the device
Summary: I'm new to the world of GPS but came across the TomTom GO 300 after hearing about it from friends. Since I've begun using it, I've been very impressed with how easy it is to use and how accurate the maps are (made by Tele Atlas). I was able to find

Pros: Intuitive menus, reasonably up to date maps Cons: Absolutely no customer service, clumsy/ugly/large basic mount
Summary: The TomTom 300 lives up to most of what you read in the professional reviews. The intuitive menus are the most attractive of any unit I have tried. The maps are OK but I have found many confused directions in LA and San Francisco areas that involve U

Pros: Nice packaging, easy to use, great touch screen, solid maps Cons: Pricy
Summary: The unit is awesome! Take it out of the box, and go. One advantage over some other manufacturers is the external SD card which allows for upgrades, backup, etc. I purchased this unit as a "demo" to get used to the SW and tools before buying the
