Pros: great blower, comfortable, cord kept out of the way, mulching Cons: vacuum lacks some power, bag could have been more heavy duty
Having begun the ritualistic gathering of the fallen leaves, I feel compelled to write a review on one of the products the wife and I have been attempting to use to make the process a bit less laborious. Okay, so "compelled" has more to do with the fact...
Pros: Great performance (as good as the best gas-powered handheld blowers), very comfortable to handle Cons: Extension cord awkward for any electric lawn equipment (but still beats gas blowers for convenience)
I could kick myself for waiting so long to get one of these things. The Toro Electric Super Blower Vac 51591 makes fall cleanup a breeze. Wondering whether to get a blower powered by gas, rechargeable battery, or like this one, electricity? ...

The Toro 215 Mph Electric Blower 51591 is the best device I have yet to encounter for the removal of unsightly (and overlooked) leaves. I have been known to...
Pros: Lightweight, GREAT suction, GREAT blower, EASY to use Cons: For $55 I feel guilty.
After watching my across the street neighbor vacuum up all his front yard leaves in 20 minutes yesterday, I knew I was going about it all wrong. I have a small yard, but a LOT of leaves. Last year, I did 16 bags full, raking. This year, I was already ...
Pros: Very good blower; easy to handle as a blower; easy to convert to vacuum Cons: Vacuum inefficient in medium to large leaf piles; could use a hose attachment
This being my first leaf blower, I didn't really know what to expect. I wasn't looking for something to blow away the previous homeowners' landscaping tragedies, or suck the burnt, over-fertilized grass spots from my lawn. Although, those would be nice...
I needed to replace a broken gas-powered leaf blower and was trying not to spend too much money. The Toro Blower Vac 51591 was only $59, but it advertised a stronger blower (215 MPH) than most of the competition. I decided to take a risk and I'm glad I...
Pros: Very good blowing ability Cons: Loud...but expected
Overall, the Toro 51591 Electric Blower is a good machine. Would I rather pay some neighborhood kid $50 to take care of the leaves? I would do it in a minute. Unfortunately, that is not an option, so for those of you like me who view leaf blowing as a ...
Pros: POWER. Reasonable quality. Right tool for the job. Cons: Vacuum works, but is slow. Would have preferred a 10-year tool.
This is the 2nd Toro SuperVac I've owned. The first one gave me good service, but I think it should have held up longer. The brushes in the motor went bad after a few years and it wouldn't have made financial sense to repair it. Also, on the first ...
Pros: Get this, it's mighty close to being fun. Cons: none
In the fall of 2004, the leaves on my shaded acre of majestic oaks were getting thicker by the hour and I knew something had to be done. I got out my trusty "Ol Red" Toro blower and plugged it in. After a few minutes of battle, I noticed the smell of ...
Pros: Cost, Ease of Use, POWER !! Cons: A bit loud,, but now you know.
I recently purchased the Toro 51591 Super Blower Vac at Home Depot. They had a whole stack of them with several other models for sale. What pushed me towards the Toro was its Consumer Reports review. The unit got great marks from CR's staff and was ...
This is the first leaf blower I have ever had. The assembly is so simple and easy that I was ready to blow them damn leaves in a few minutes after I opened the box and reviewed the manual. I was amazed by the power of this blower, even on the lower speed. I'm already used to the noise of power tools, so the noise of this blower didn't shock me. I do wish the handle would have an adjustable length feature, so that a taller person can hold the blower more parallel to the ground, blowing the leaves forward and up, instead of pressed into the grass (because of the angle). I also wish there were an even lower speed (there are 2 speeds, low & high), for arranging the leaves in piles on pavement without blowing the whole pile away! After I tried blowing, I decided to test the vacuum feature of this unit, and I was very disappointed by its inability to pick up a single not-so-wet leaf off the pavement. So I abandoned the vacuum idea. The unit's good blowing power alone makes it worth buying.
Great Blower but Nearly Worthless Vacuum by drjimbo ,Dec 03 '03
Pros: Balance, Power, Simple Cons: Plastic Impeller, Replacement Parts Not Readily Available
The thing has great balance and a is reasonably powerful for an electric blower. At first, the unit vacuumed great. However, with just a little moisture in your leaves, the impeller will pack abrasive gunk around the inside of the blower housing. After only a short while, the gunk will reach the impeller and grind up the plastic blades. If you do only occasional vacuuming, this may be Ok. If you want a reliable vacuum machine, get something else.
Pros: Inexpensive, mulching, two power settings, easy to handle. Cons: A little noisy on high speed.
I was a little concerned about the quality since the price was so low but when I got it out and running I was very impressed with it's blower & vacuum power. It even picks up damp leafs.
Pros: Blowing, well balanced, big catcher bag, price Cons: vacuum & mulching could be better, switching from vacuum to blowing can be a hassle
I was very impressed with the blowing ability of the Toro. The vacuum and mulching was not quite as good as I expected, but it is not too bad. Altogether, way better than raking, and stuffing piles of leaves in bags
Good power, but cheap plastic blades. by kevinbmw1417 ,Dec 08 '05
Pros: lightweight, ease of use Cons: cheap, brittle material
Price, power, and lightweight and the good qualities. But be careful and small objects hidden in that pile of leaves. All it takes is a small, hard object and it will be rendered totally useless when the brittle plastic blades on the impeller break off and causes it to be out of balance, making the most awful noise. I had a Black and Decker Leaf Hog before I tried Toro's offering. I got 2 seasons service from the B&D before the motor burned up from overuse. I'm lucky to get 2 hours service from the Toro product!! Buyer beware!!!!!!
