Easier than using a shovel.

by dhascall , Dec 26 '02
Pros: Cheaper and easier to use than a gas powered unit, works better than a shovel
Cons: Only flips the snow. No wheels. Cord gets in way. Good up to 10" snow.
When one thinks of ways to move snow, two ways dominate most ways of thinking: Snow blowing or shoveling. A gas powered "lawn mower for the snow" blower usually is a monsterous unit, that throws the snow out of your way. Good but not always practical....

Toro Beats Hand Snow Shoveling Hands Down No Contest

by erolsdaniel58 , Jan 07 '03
Pros: Inexpensive and relatively efficient compact lightweight electric snow removal power tool for wet/dry snow.
Cons: Watch out for foreign debris in snow path and being entangled in electrical extension cord.
The Toro Power Shovel is a very compact lightweight electric powered snow removal power tool that can remove decent quantities of snow both dry and wet. One does have to make sure not to run over or tangle up the electrical extension cord while operating...

Cons: Assembly of the unit was a bit frustrating.
My wife and I had were looking for a snow blower to save our bad backs some agony when we happened upon the Toro Electric Power Snow Shovel at Villagers here in NJ. We had looked at normal snow blowers, but the cost to buy one was too much for something...

One of the most useless tools I've seen!

by newtownbeans Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Dec 27 '04
Pros: NONE
Cons: Doesn't work in high wet snow; flimsy blades; only pushes snow forward; broom is useless.
I was recently given the Toro Power Shovel as a gift and I am sure that the giver had all good intentions, but this is one of the most useless tools I have ever owned. Needless to say, it has been returned to the store. There are two main problems ...

Don't Bother, you'll do a better job with a shovel!!!

by pweisenberg Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jan 04 '00
Pros: light weight
Cons: can't throw heavy snow, extension gets tangled
After you've used the Toro Power Shovel, you'll probably start talking to yourself like I did. "I should have just used a hand shovel". They should call is at broom, because that's about as much SNOW as this unit can throw while using it.

TORO POWER SNOW SHOVEL

by scottconnolly , Jan 02 '03
Pros: Excellent Labor Saving Product
Cons: Ergonomic handle not available?
Excellent product -- used the first time in an "8" snowfall with a slushy base and heavying as the day warmed. Actually had set aside the gas powered snow blower (tired of un-jamming the chute) .. and tried the product which had been sitting under-used...

Toro Power shovel- Any Questions answered today!

by greg-runk , Jan 22 '05
Pros: Inexpensive, really tosses the snow, all you honestly need for 70% of this country
Cons: Maybe crushed ice and rocks are a problem, distance to outlet may be problem
People, It's January 22nd of '05 and the Northeast just got stung with a 10-18 inch snowfall depending on where you are. I've done a lot of research on snow removal tools, and let me put a few things to rest. I bought the Toro power shovel about three ...

Better than a shovel...

by jdac , Nov 17 '02
Pros: Compact, lightweight, powerful
Cons: Not very 'manly'
We just had our first snowfall here in Toronto. I bought the Power Shovel because I have a small driveway and only 30' of sidewalk to clear. Toronto does not really get that much snow; just few times per season. Buying a full size snow blower does not...

Electricity + Snow =Fun! (sometimes)

by Viscouse , Oct 07 '08
Pros: Makes menial shoveling, sweeping, faster.
Cons: Wind, power cord, small size all work to make the experience not fun.
Well, after countless winters shoveling the pure white hell we here in Michigan call snow off my (reasonably) small driveway, I finally broke down and bought this delightful slice of heaven to help me out, on account that my kids aren't old enough to ...

shovel vs. Toro

by den6104 , Jan 04 '03
Pros: Outperforms what is written on box.
Cons: Non yet.
Just went out and bought one to use on roof. Been meaning to buy one for a few years, but always sold out. Roof is 34' wide x 28' (just on one side and at a low pitch level).
I was very comprehensive that it would work, but let me tell you, it...

Love It!

by shanedonna , Jan 07 '06
Pros: Fairly light weight Affordable Electric, no smelly fumes, gas cans to deal with
Cons: Electric: but if you can vacuum without running over the cord, you can do this.
After years of shoveling, I finally talked my husband into purchasing a snowblower for our driveway. While we were there, we also picked up this snowthrower to use on the deck. I'm sooooo glad we did, this little thrower is very handy to have around. If ...

Moves Snow Quickly!

by Misterama , Dec 13 '00
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Plastic rotary blade
I had my doubts about the Power Shovel when my wife bought it, but to my surprise it does a great job on moving snow up to 4-5 inches deep. Even deeper snow will move easily if you remove it in layers. I am disabled, so we needed something light weight...

A big thumbs up

by swangner , Dec 30 '00
Pros: Fast, timesaver, cuts work at least in half
Cons: Throws snow directly forward
In NY, we just had about 10" of snow, and I went out with the Toro Power Shovel. I had absolutely no problems with it, in fact, I was impressed with how far it threw the snow, and how much it threw. Toro claims that it will do up to 4" of...
