Pros: Excellent HD DVD and DVD playback quality, solid build construction Cons: Very slow power-on and load times, poor remote control
Introduction A few months ago I purchased a Toshiba HD-XA1 HD DVD player to replace my previous standard DVD player. The reasoning behind my purchase of a new HD DVD player was to enjoy the new video and audio improvements offered by HD DVDs, ...
Pros: Excellent up-converting technology Cons: Slow boot and not happy with the remote
Up-Convert the World! HD Style... Toshiba HD-XAI My Story Yes, I know HD DVD players and their discs have finally gone the way of the beta max, but why buy a up-converting DVD player when you can get a better model for less? I was able to ...
Pros: Excellent Picture, Software Upgradable, Best Upconverting Player Cons: Slow Load Time

Pros: Beautiful picture and sound. Cons: Slow load time
Unlike the previous reviewer I have had no problems with HDMI to DVI conversion. The reason may be that I bought mine later. I use optical cable direct to a Denon avr-5800 receiver for digital audio. My TV is a Mitsubishi 82" lcos, which supports a 1080p format. The Toshiba performs with no artifacts on this large screen (ultimate test). I'm sure it'll do fine on yours
Another advantage with buying later was price. I paid $450.00 for new out of the box, however you have to shop the Internet extensively. I found mine on ebay. The remote backlight is pretty but nervous and will occasionally light with no prompting
To elaborate further would be to parrot the previous review.
