No wonder the Toshiba M71 was named a best buy in PCWorld magazine

by Kris. Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Mar 18 '02
Pros: high resolution, manual settings, good price, rebates
Cons: ugly looking plastic case, need to buy extra memory
Brief Overview
I am very happy with the Toshiba PDR-M71. The quality of the photographs are good, and the camera is simple to operate. It is not quite small enough to be considered a pocket size camera but it is light enough to carry...

Excellent camera at an excellent price

by cidd , Mar 12 '02
Pros: Bargain Price, Lots of Features, Print Image Matching
Cons: Poor Optical View finder, No automatic lens cover
Now let me start off what the bad stuff first.
The two things I somewhat dislike what the PDR-M71. Is the optical view finder, because it only shows about 80 percent of the final picture area. Personally this doesn’t really bother me, because, like...

Great when it worked, but wouldn't buy again or recommend

by hillarysme , Sep 05 '03
Pros: Clear pictures, solid body
Cons: Major power problems rendered mine useless. Toshiba offers little in the way of support.
I was very pleased with this camera during the first year or so that I had it. It worked great. I had to buy NiMH rechargeable batteries to run the camera, but they worked fine. The problem is that now, after working for about a year, the camera will ...

Tough Camera, and Great Pictures, What more do you want??!!

by roman_eller , Oct 23 '04
Pros: Great feel, great pictures and quality, great bundled kit, and reputation!!
Cons: Cheap looking lens cover that you have to manually put on the camera.
This camera is very tough looking and acting. I feel that nothing can stop this one. It is unusually thick in size, giving at a strong look, not like a cheap thin camera. I like the feature that you can choose what quality and size you want to picture ...

Works well, but when it stops working, you're stuck.

by stellertony , Nov 27 '05
Pros: Physically durable. Good grip. Media is cheap. Uses AA batteries. Decent pictures.
Cons: Included software is pathetic. No OS X drivers. Support is virtually nonexistent. Uses AAs. Pricey.
I bought the PDR-M71 a few years ago with some prize money from a contest. It was a good camera for its time, although it was really expensive ($400 on sale + memory & a USB card). The camera is pretty rugged, and stood up to a few falls. It takes ...
