Pros: Price, 1 GHz Intel Celeron CPU, DVD,256mb ram, 13.3" Color TFT display Cons: Cyberblade video accelerator, preinstalled software, limited hard copy documentation
What is the Satellite 1805-S204 ?
The 1805 S204 Satellite is Toshiba's $1099 entry level notebook PC. The term "entry level" can be misleading though, as this 7 lb notebook has a lot of nice features, 256k ram, 1 GHz celeron cpu, 20...
Pros: DVD ROM, ultra affordable, great for students, feature loaded and 1GHz. Cons: Software bundle could do better.
When I was trying to look for an affordable laptop for my friend, since he’s attending University right now, far from home, none of the other vendors like Sony and Dell could offer it at an affordable price, yet have the reliability of the Toshiba....
Pros: Lots of features, a good screen, and real ports. Cheap, too. Cons: Comes with Windows XP, no real manuals, bring your own software.
So you're looking to buy a laptop, are you? That's easy enough. Wait, you want an all in one? With a DVD drive? TV out? Good audio hardware? Oh, that's too bad. That'll cost you.
Well, maybe not.
The trouble with laptops is that...
Pros: Toshiba Brand, DVD, TV out, rescue CD Cons: Celeron, bulky compared to lighter notebooks
For a large part of my "computer life" I have stayed away from laptops. I've always felt the additional cost for last months processing power in a smaller case in exchange for the convenience of a portable computer didn't fit with my lifestyle.

Pros: Very good price for a high quality laptop Cons: Screen is a tad bit small
I am not exactly the richest guy in the world, now that Epinions pays a fraction of what it used to, and so I can't just buy the fastest $3000 laptop with money out of my wallet. In half a decade I will probably have to get a new one just to keep up...
Pros: Affordable, big TFT screen, TV-Out, under $1000, nice hard drive, windows XP Cons: short battery time, little documentation, lotus suite software
This is a nice laptop, it is more powerful than my desktop at almost the same price. Its perfect for someone on a budget, with some bonus features. I don't have a home DVD player, so I use the video out (not S-video though) to watch DVDs on my TV. The...
Unreliable, otherwise great by skierdude1188 ,Jun 23 '05
Pros: Price, portability, media buttons on the front, ports in the back Cons: Reliability, hard drive size
I have owned this laptop for 3 years now. The features are great, 1Ghz processor, 512 RAM, DVD drive are all great. I especially like the buttons on the front that allow the user to control music even when the laptop is closed.
However, during the first 30 days I sent it back to Toshiba twice, each for new hard drives. I did pay for the 1 year extended warranty, and I wish I had purchased the 3-year. During the one-year span the hard drive was replaced 3 more times on 3 separate occasions, all covered under warranty. I was assured that this behavior was not normal, but I'm not taking any chances. This is the last Toshiba I buy. I have just installed the second new hard drive on my dollar and it seems to be failing already.
It was a excellent computer... by wittynot_dt3000 ,Jan 18 '03
It was a excellent computer until all of sudden the display starting flicking off all the time. This happened about 2-3 weeks after the year warrantity expired. Toshiba will not do nothing now except charge a 800.00 dollars to fix. the computer should have lasted much longer than 13 months. I do not recommend this to anyone unless you are willing to throw 1200 dollars away.
