Pros: Not complicated to use; can work your entire body. Cons: Be careful getting on and off; not for the novice or bodybuilder.
I have reviewed both the Total Gym 1500 (like the 1700) and the 3000. The noticeable differences were the price, cosmetic differences and the maximum weight of the user. When I saw the Total Gym 14000 I decided to spend some time with it because a lot of ...
Pros: variety of workouts in one piece of equipment; consistent resistance throughout exercise; quality construction Cons: not for serious weight lifters; accessories pricey
I purchased my Total Gym 14000 to continue my physical therapy after a debilitating neck injury. I was using a model 24000 at my therapy appointments and was impressed with the impact of the exercises my physical therapist had me performing. It did not ...
Pros: Easy on the body not many parts. Cons: Very expensive will not build muscle and from my experience rotten customer service.
For years I used the model 1100 which later became the 11000 and once they stopped manufacturing that model they came up with the 14000,but here's the clincher when a welded piece which connects to the frame came apart they (TG)told me that model no ...

Total Gym... Happy with my purchase by gogo92130 ,Apr 21 '08
Pros: Easy to use.
XLS is well built.
# of diff exercises Cons: Need to change out pcs. I arranged cards to lessen adjustments. Cost. Way it folds.
I got a total gym XLS a few weeks ago and have been happy with it. It's easy to use, after watching the video just a few times. I thought I'd need to or want to watch the video every work out for direction and motivation, but I've been able to remain motivated with my own work out. I selected my favorite exercise cards and doing 15 reps each. For a person who has never been athletic and never exercised on a regular basis, it's going well. I've worked out about 3-4 times a week.
This equipment is about 8' long. I'm a little skiddish about folding it up, so I've left it out.
Don't pay $1700 or $900 or $500 for this machine. NEGOTIATE!
