I have been a Trek customer for quite sometime now, and I must say that they are doing a fine job. All their bikes are reliable and look great in my opinion. I never race my bikes but these bikes are so fast and rugged. Most of the time I bike on...
Pros: Well...It probably won't fall apart under normal riding conditions Cons: Heavy, ugly, handles like fat sow.
It might be a little harsh to describe Trek's VRX debocal the worst suspension bike ever, but it's not far from it. Trek got into rear suspension way before they were ready, and instead of following the reliable, working designs that other companies were...
Pros: Nice Suspension Design, Good Value, Decent Tires Cons: Weight, Front Shock, Pedals
Trek introduced this new suspension design in 1999 to replace its aging Y-bike. This design improves upon the Y-bike in several ways and regresses in one. The VRX is heavier than the older Y-bike but its advantages more than make up for this deficiency....
Pros: Fast, maneuverable, attractive, upgradeable Cons: Hard climbs, short thin seat tube, doesn't have the travel to be "big-hit" bike.
I got my bike new for Valentine's Day 2002. Though it did not seem to be as big a hit with the full size guys (young men that are 5'11 and taller); The other two people I know that have them and myself like them a lot
(we are all of a height:...
Pros: great for tall riders (in Large size) Cons: none
Going from a hardtail Giant Iguana, I found this bike just amazing. So many bikes are cramped in the cockpit (I'm 6'2") but this bike stretches me out nicely. I couldn't find a bike that fits like this one. No cheap parts, adequate suspension, and the...
Pros: Excellent components, Trek quality, very reliable, fast, maneuverable, and relatively inexpensive Cons: A little heavy, decals have tendency to peel, and not so good at freestyle
I started riding this bike when I was 14 and just beginning to understand what full-suspension bikes were capable of. After a few weeks I had fallen in love with this bike. It's got an incredibly strong (although slightly heavy) frame, a relatively comfortable seat and rider's position, excellent components, and Trek brand reliability. I've owned and maintained this bike for 8 years and it still looks great, rides great, and is loads of fun to run through trails. No, it's not necessarily what I'd call a free-ride style bike because the design and travel of the suspension setup don't really allow for it, but on x-country terrain this bike really shines. If you're seeking a cheap way to buy a quality full-suspension bike, this is a great option.
