the wonder pill
by rowditNew Member ,Dec 29 '09
Pros: no drowsiness, pain and pressure was relieved for the WHOLE day with just two pills,
Cons: Novatis no longer makes it
Triaminicin was the BEST solution ever for runny nose's, sore throat, head pain associated with cold and flu why they took it off the market i will never know probably took business from other drug companies because it WORKED but that's how out free market works they take what works away so companies that dont produce good products can compete. Its a shame we cant boycotte Novartis for this shamefull thing they have dont by taking something that works away from us but that's life if ANYONE can find Triaminicin I would be VERY happy to hear about it

VIRTIGO GIRL
by ronimae ,May 06 '09
Pros: The only thing out there that works!!!!
Cons: Can't buy it anymore!!!
I too have been very upset about not being able to get Triaminicin.    My whole family keeps their eye out for the bumblebee box.  After not being able to get this, I ended up in the ER for dizziness.  Now I have been diagnosed with Virtigo.  The doctor believed that I was staying balanced all of those years, because of Triaminicin.  Claritan D doesn't work as well have to take more than recommended, but as you know, can only get it every 7 days.  A doctor put me on Zyrtec D.  Same thing happened.  So every Spring and Fall I have to deal with this.  Ears pounding, dripping nose and ears, headaches, loss of vision, nausia, head pounding, and watery eyes.  Can't enjoy that beautiful weather, because I have to hide away in the air conditioning.  My parents have a few pills left and every year offer them to me, but I will not take them, whats the use, if it helps me I can't find them anymore!

It is the only medication that really works
by sroley ,Feb 21 '08
Pros: always works. best I have found, I have tried most all of the cold medicines.
Cons: It really dries your sinuses it is strong but I like it shortens recovery time
I have been using triaminicin for more than twenty five years. It is the only thing I found that works. It actually reduces the recovery time. All the other medicine I tried were no where as effective. I have had problems obtaining it for many years. When I do find it the price has always gone up. I pay what ever it cost because it works. Now I hear they are removing it from the market. It almost sounds like the pharmaceutical company doesn't want to heal you too quickly.

If not Novartis..please someone step up!
by swando ,Jan 03 '08
Pros: Easy fix for sniffly snouts and nasal congestion
Cons: No longer available unless through overseas black markets.
Triaminicin, for those who suffered from the nasal congestion and/or drippy nose, was the ONLY answer in our family. None of us ever had any ill affects from taking it, and boy, did it ever work! Triaminicin was one of the few over-the-counter drugs that lived up to its promise.

You can get plans to make a bomb on the Internet, so why can't Novartis at least give us the recipe to make Triaminicin at home?? Nothing else seems to work.

It was what we gave the astronauts!
by jeanyrn ,Jan 02 '08
Pros: Reliable product for symptomatic relief.
Cons: None
When I worked at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, we gave this product to the Astronauts. I figured if it was good enough for them, it was good enough for me. It was the best thing I ever took and usually worked within 20 minutes. I always recommended it to my friends and without exception they were all pleased with the results. I keep going on line hoping to find a supply and keep hoping it will be put back on the market. I realize that anything can be abused but feel that responsible people should not be denied a good product because of the irresponsible few. Sign me a disheartened RN.

I have 6 tablets left...
by yankfan046 ,Dec 27 '07
Pros: Nothing works like it!
Cons: It's not on the shelves anywhere! :(
Anyone find a place to purchase this product yet? This stuff is the best. I was able to buy it in PA after being unable to find it in NJ. Now it's nowhere to be found, and it is the best! I can't believe Triaminicin, which I've been using since 1977 can possible be discontinued.

Bring It Back!
by mike_smith979 ,Dec 26 '07
Pros: Relieved symptoms with no side effects
Cons: None that I noticed
I agree 100% with what everyone else has said about Triaminicin. I could always count on it to relieve my runny nose, sneezing, itchy, watery eyes and severe sinus headaches. I had to laugh when one reviewer said he found some left over in his cabinet. I did the same thing this past week and said a big "YES!" with my fist held up. I sure hope Novartis rethinks their strategy on this drug.

IT WORKED
by girlfriendally ,Dec 10 '06
Pros: It relieved sinus pain within an hour. I've found nothing to replace it.
Cons: None.
I want Triaminicin back on the shelf; it's the only medication that worked on sinus pain. Why was it removed from the market?

Traminicin Works
by tramp06660 ,Dec 03 '06
Pros: It worked.
Cons: It shorted doctor and other companies profits.
I've taken this medication ever since it's been on the market. It would stop the flu NOW. My brother took it for allergies, and was the only thing that worked. Was it too large of a success? It cheated doctors and other pharmaceutical companies out of some of their huge profits, that has to be a fact. I am sorry America lost another great product to socialism.

Triaminicin - Off the market
by mrs_saw ,Oct 26 '06
Pros: It was the BEST. The only thing that worked on me!
Cons: NONE, NADA, ZIP. Except that I can't buy it anymore!
I was told by my pharmacist that Novartis quit manufacturing Triamicin. I nearly cried... it was the only sinus medication that worked without making me feel like I had 12 cups of coffee or a bag of cotton in my mouth. It just cleared up the sinuses and allowed me to focus on my day. I truly wish Novartis would reconsider putting it back on the shelves (even behind the pharmacist's counter).

Triaminicin is the BEST!!! see 800# below
by purplemoon ,Aug 01 '06
Pros: It's the best!
Cons: None that I've experienced
I found this on a fluke, looking where I can buy Triaminicin. I, too, have used this product for over 20 years-(when I remember to get it) and it works the best! I have a summer cold.....yesterday bought 2 different 'cold' remedies, and they did nothing! This morning I found about 6 tablets left in my cabinet...took 1 tablet, and viola, I can breath. On the box it says mfgd, by Norvartis Consumer Health, Inc, and the phone no. is 1-800-452-0051 24/7......I hope to find something out!
Good luck everyone! (I also like that it does not make you feel like spitting cotton balls.....its very gentle)

Help me find Triaminicin
by bjgrolla ,Feb 24 '06
Pros: Fast relief for cold & sinus symptoms including allergic reactions.
Cons: Use to make me drowsy
My whole family including Mom, Dad, daughters & son-in-laws have been using Triaminicin for years. Nothing stops the onset of a cold, sinus or allergy problem faster. I can no longer find Triaminicin at our local drugstores, including Wal-Mart or Walgreens. I spoke with a rep at Novartis last fall and she instructed me to go to drugstore.com. I found it listed but I still had a new 48 package left so I didn't order any. My mother has since run out and I am down to 12 pills so I went out to drugstore.com to order but to no avail. I tried other websites also. If anyone has any idea on how I can find some more Triaminicin, please post it here.
