Pros: Makes nice wood chip mulch for the garden
Cons: Clogs WAY too easily and does not like hardwood

Summary: I bought the 10 hp 305 cc Troy-bilt model a few months ago, rather than the smaller unit, thinking to make quick work of the acre and a quarter of primarily oak leaves and branches that litter my yard every fall. And the machine performs well enough, ... read more

Pros: Takes on the tough jobs
    Cons: Use carefully

Summary: Troy Bilt is just plain hard to beat. This Chipper/Shredder is a fine little monster, and does a good job just like described in the literature. And DO wear your hearing protection - the motor is loud enough, but when she starts chewing, she's LOUD. ... read more

Pros: The red color is nice and it has wheels.
Cons: Jams easily, parts are expensive, starting cold is sometimes an issue.

Summary: Bought a new "Troy-Bilt" at a great price not realizing that what I actually got was a MTD machine built under the Troy-Bilt name.  Had I known what I was getting I wouldn't have bought it.  I should have known - you really do get what you pay ... read more

Pros: Powerful. Well worth the money despite the jamming problem.
Cons: Impeller jams frequently with wood chip(s).
