Pros: Good price, great location Cons: Not fancy, just a room
In March 2004 I had my second stay at the Tudor in South Beach, FL for the Winter Music Conference. Seeing the other bad reviews I was thinking maybe my first stay was a fluke. But the second stay confirms it: the Tuder is a fine little hotel in an ...
Pros: Great Location, Cheap Rates Cons: Small rooms
I stayed at the Tudor Inn back in May, and was able to get a pretty decent rate of $70/night off of an internet site. The hotel itself is in a great location. The beach is only one street over, and the Versace mansion is right in front of it. You can see...

Pros: located conveniently by the nightlife Cons: Everything!!!Don't stay in this hotel unless you are blind, deaf, or loss your sense of everything.
We bought this hotel because of the location and price. This hotel was just down right "Triflin." If you are into "fake" king size mattress pushed together by two twin beds, dirty stoves, bathrooms, and rude front desk people, well this is the hotel for you. We hated our hotel, but loved our first time in Miami. The Tudor needs to become the Torn Down. The pictures on the internet are outdated, mold is everywhere,(no kidding)and the safe you don't ask for, wouldn't hold the prizes from the cereal box. Our mattress had sooo many stains, we slept in our clothes most of time. The bathroom shower knob was missing, so we had to guestimate the water temperature. I bought cleaning products from the store across the street and cleaned our room. Wear slippers or socks at all times.
Pros: yeah right! Cons: You name it and it exists. If my review doesnt detere you, expect unpleasantry.
The worst stay yet. Motel8 is nicer, yuck. We came for a funeral and it was included w/ airfare. If you have a car, rental or own, it costs close to 12 dollars a night to park. We were to stay here for 3 days during hurricane (Jeanne 2004)and had to leave early. Not safe at all even in normal weather. Hurricane should have demolished this crappy place and make the neighbors happy. You will be charged for a safe even if you dont have one in room. They will not relent. I came close to calling police but the storm was near us and I didnt want to drown like a rat in that hell hole.
Pros: In the heart of the Art Deco district of South Beach. Cons: Small, ugly, dirty, noisy, late check in, needs major update.
The Tudor Hotel is a smaller hotel in the heart of South Beach that was probably nice once upon a time in the 40's. This hotel (like many in South Beach) has aged more like cheese than fine wine - it's stinky and moldy. The room we stayed in was small, not very clean and in BAD NEED OF AN UPDATE. I get the sense that a lot of the hotels in this area are busy enough based on their location alone that the management doesn't have to do much to keep them filled. If you are a backpacker and don't mind dingy, depressing rooms that are comparable to any YMCA or Youth Hostel in return for cool location, then this place will suit you just fine. Families or travellers who are accustomed to budget hotels will find this one not up to par and should look elsewhere.
This hotel should be lucky to get the 1 star! Old, run down, not safe, mold and mildew. We stay October 2004 via Hotwire, which rated it a 3.5*. Never again, stay away and tell all friends.
