The mix-n-stor is just what I wanted. by margaretxxx ,Jan 22 '05
Pros: Splatter guard works very well. Handy size. Cons: Nice if it were bigger but that's a trivial complaint.
I do not bake much so only have a hand mixer. It had to be replaced recently (it was very ancient), and the lowest speed on the new one (a Black and Decker recommended by Consumer Reports) is much faster than the low speed on my old mixer. As a result, when beginning to mix wet and dry ingredients, it is easy to have the dry ingredients flying all over the place. I started to look for a mixing bowl with a splatter guard like the expensive stand mixers have and came across the tupperware mix-n-stor. When I got it, I thought it might be too small for my usual mixing jobs, but it was not and it worked very well. I would absolutely recommend it for anyone who has a light duty mixing job that fits it's capacity. It has a lid which will fit over the hole in the splatter guard through which you insert the beaters when mixing. I haven't had a use for that yet but may eventually.
Pros: warranty, ease of use, functionality Cons: none apparent
I love this bowl. I use it all the time for batters, and it's fantastic for making frosting--the beaters fit through the hole in the lid and the powdered sugar doesn't go all over the kitchen. It pours cleanly, unlike many 8-cup pitchers, and is absolutely worth the money, unlike a lot of the other Tupperware stuff, which I find redundant.
