Is it just me or does it seem like colds, viruses and the flu seem to come at the absolute worst times? Of course, no time is a good time for a little one to get sick, but in our household it seems like when it rains, it pours! My 2 1/2 year old...
Pros: Helps your child sleep, tastes yummy and a name you can trust Cons: Liquid can be hard to give some children
I just discovered something new about my three-year-old. He has allergies. While I don't believe in medicating a child this young for allergy symptoms, I do believe in medicating them when the symptoms bring on an infection. This is what happened with my...
Pros: Good symptomatic relief, multi symptom Cons: Didn't do much for our toddler's really runny nose
We have recently suffered a severe bout of sickness in our family. Mom, dad, big brother & baby have all been quite ill with various forms of cold & flu. For a parent, desperation sets in ... what cold medication should I choose? What will...
Pros: Fevers Gone Cons: Does nothing for nasal congestion, runny nose or sneezing
Okay, to start out with, I rarely give my son medicine unless he absolutely needs it. I am a firm believer in letting the immune system do it's job and not over medicating our children. However, there are times when our body needs a little help.

Pros: has a decongestent, has acetaminophen, and good for multi-symtom cold Cons: can overmedicate child if not informed.
First of all this is a good cold medicine if your child has a fever or pain of some sort. This medicine containes acetaminophen the main medication of childrens tylenol. But they have a new line called simply stuffy and simply cold by tylenol brand and these would work better for your child if you don't have the fever. To avoid over medicating your child. Also these products taste very good and I have not had a problem getting my children age two and three to take it. A word about stuffy noses or runny noses your best bet is a decongestent and yes this tylenol cold has it in it. The thing is it won't stop the runny nose because that is not the cure. You see a decongestent will help the sinus caveties drain and prevent bacteria infection and other complecations. Also a cool mist humedifier is good for this too. So don't expect this medicined to just stop the runny nose because that is not the point of this type. Your doctor will recomend a decongestent and acetaminophen for fever and if you do indeed need both then this is a good choice.
