Pros: nice, sound sleep, rids nightly pain Cons: may not work night after night, may be used to cover more serious illnesses
Although I was an insomniac for years, I wouldn't say that I ever suffered from it. It didn't bother me that I kept very different hours from the rest of the world. That is, until I had to work a different shift nearly every day. One day I'd work from 7...
Pros: Puts you to sleep. Cons: Grogginess; may have serious side effects.
A couple of weeks ago I was sick. I had sinus pain and congestion, achiness and a cough. Although I didn't have a fever I couldn't sleep at night. I went digging in my bathroom closet and found a small, 24 geltab bottle, of Tylenol PM. They...
Pros: Sleep aid and pain reliever in one! Cons: None

Pros: Gets rid of minor aches while fighting sleeplessness without morning-after grogginess Cons: None
Even though I do tend to be a night owl and stay up till the "wee hours of the morning," I do manage to get at least six hours of sleep on a regular basis, and sometimes even eight hours. Very rarely, though, do I have a totally sleepless night, but ...
Pros: Delivers a good night's sleep. Cons: Recommended dosage can be too much.

Pros: Helped me sleep Cons: Took a little longer than I hoped for to start working.
I have been suffering from Insomnia lately. I was fried. Our son has the nasty habit of getting up about 7am (when I am lucky he will sleep that late). I haven't been going to bed until after 3am at least, and then I would lay there and think about all...
Pros: Works for a variety of sleepless nights. Cons: May make you groggy the day after.
Recently I have had difficulty sleeping due to a ruptured disc. I am not a fan of painkillers and things tend to stay in my system longer than they say. I asked my doctor if he could recommend an over the counter medicine for me to use instead of a...
Pros: Helps Me Sleep and gets rid of my headache Cons: Hard To get going in the morning after taking it
I do not like to go to bed with a headache any more then I like waking up with one. If they are bad, enough they can keep you awake at night.

Pros: Works quickly on insomnia associated with pain Cons: It leaves you feeling drugged in the morning

Pros: pain relief, fast acting sleep aid Cons: some side effects
Ever since I had my daughter, sleep has become a thing of the past. At the end of a day full of chaotic temper tantrums, flying food, crying, customer service phone calls and children chasing, I am often left with a headache.
Pros: Sound sleep, wake up feeling great, no aches and pains Cons: Can't drive heavy machinery in my pajamas (just kidding, I can't find any)
Ohhh, it is one of those nights again. I can't sleep so here I am sitting on the computer, reading Epinions. Yikes! I have to be at work tomorrow morning! Where's my bottle of Tylenol PM?
Several years ago when I was working and going to...
Pros: Works wonderfully Cons: Leaves me feeling hung over
Thanks to the miracle of modern medicine, we as consumers have been blessed with a pain reliever that also ensures we get a decent nights' sleep. As with all medications though, you still need to exercise caution when taking Tylenol PM.
Pros: headache gone - good nights sleep Cons: a little groggy feeling in the morning.
Quite a few years ago while I was still in the work force, I would have headaches at night. I figured that it was the stress of knowing that when I awoke I would have to go back to work!
I tried a number of remedies during those times but...

I have back pain 100% of the time. Occasionally, the pain is unbearable. A few weeks ago, I suffered one of those episodes and out of sheer desperation, I purchased a bottle of Tylenol PM.
Pros: Takes pain away and brings sleep to you Cons: May get used to if taken regularly
I believe this epinion will be a bit different from others who’ve wrote on this product. Tylenol PM is made to be a pain reliever for those in pain as well as help them get a sleep filled night. I on the other hand actually use this to get my...
Two years ago, I knew nothing about Tylenol PM. I am an expert on the product now! :) I was almost 8 months pregnant with my daughter, and I was having a really hard time sleeping. I am sure all of you mothers out there know what I am talking about. I...
Pros: Helps relieve night time pain and sleeplessness effectively. Cons: Takes an hour or more to take effect.

Pros: Works Fast!!! Cons: Sleepiness lingered 3 hours after waking up.
It had been almost three days since I had slept last. I was adjusting to a higher dose of my anti-depressant, Zoloft, and it was keeping me awake. I had a prescription for a sleeping pill but it never worked! I was miserable....I was soooo sleepy but...
Pros: safe, effective, no major side effects Cons: more expensive than need be; dry mouth side effect may be annoying
Got aches & pains keeping you awake at night? Tylenol PM will probably be just the thing, IF Tylenol by itself helps you with the same kind of pain during the day AND you need the "PM" part of the formulation to sleep. (What I'm trying to...
This is a combination pain reliever and sleep aid. I keep this bottle separate from the rest of my pain relievers. Why? Because I don’t want to accidently take Tylenol PM during the day. I am very susceptible to the “drowsy” factor of medicines, and...
Pros: Works quickly, no side effects Cons: May make for tough mornings
From some of my other reviews it can be noticed that I live by the philosophy of "live better chemically." GASP! How awful. Well, get over it. I actually stole that term from my sister, Holly, so I must give her credit. Together we...
Pros: Has the Tylenol name. Helps you rest while relieving pain. Cons: can make you feel groggy in the morning
During my early 30's, I started back to college as a single mother with two young sons. My study time was after the children were asleep at night usually between the hours of 10:00pm to 2:00am. I found myself in a pattern of becoming a night owl. This...

Pros: Few side effects, non habit forming Cons: none
Tylenol PM has proven itself worthy of a permanent place in my medicine cabinet. On several occaisions, this medicine has saved me from a sleepless night. NyQuil and I don't mix, it gives me some really odd side effects, so I was looking for a...
Pros: It works quickly with no side effects Cons: A bit expensive

Pros: Fast acting, really works on the pain, promotes drowsiness, not habit-forming Cons: None
I discovered Tylenol PM many years ago during a particularly rough stint with migraine headaches. My mother used to get them, as well as my grandmother and my mother always told me that as I got older they would stop. Until that time, I was forced to...
Pros: Puts you to sleep. Cons: Is very addictive and hard to get off of.
Tylenol PM has a funny way of creeping up on you - it doesn't take long to realize that you can't live without it, and yet it does serious damage to your liver and is very obviously addictive.
Pros: Helps with sleeplessness Cons: Can leave you feeling groggy the next morning
I've suffered from Insomnia since the birth of my three children. I have always trusted the Tylenol name to care for many of my families headaches and cold symptoms. Now I have added Tylenol PM to my medicine cabinet and have never suffered another...

Pros: Useful to help older people sleep Cons: Can become addictive
In response to some constructive critisism I amended this opinion to qualify a few things. In this day and age it seems that we have to be politically correct. I stated that we shouldn't worry about addictions for the elderly. This is not...

I have a very hardheaded three year old at home,so it's not unusual that by the end of the day I have a splitting headache!I also suffer from bouts with sleeplessness, but taking a sleep aid and a pain pill doesn't work.I decided to give Tylenol P.M....
Pros: Helps me sleep, relieves pain. Cons: A bit drowsy the next morning.
Until Tylenol #3 becomes approved by the FDA for sale over the counter, I'm recommending Tylenol PM as the next-best-thing for pain relief and sleep aid. I do not, however, recommend taking Tylenol (#3, PM, or any other brand) for a long period of time....
Pros: Reasonable Cost, Easily accessible Cons: Didn't have much of an effect
I purchases Tylenol PM a couple months ago to help with my sleeplessness. I wanted something over the counter since I had never taken a sleep aid before and wasn't sure what effects it would have on my body. I didn't want to wake up the next day...
Pros: Seems to put you to sleep. Cons: Could be habit forming.
Every once in a while I'll have trouble falling asleep. If it goes on for more than one night, I'm looking for something to help. I don't like using sleep-aids just because I'm afraid of becoming dependent on them but sometimes you just want a good...
Pros: no groggy morning side effects Cons: not for major problems
I have been a Tylenol user for aches and pains for quite some time. I
have a problem with my lower back and getting to sleep at night was a problem at times. I saw an ad on television for Tylenol PM and figured
My personal experience with Tylenol PM:

I've used Tylenol PM on and off for many years. I love this product! When the stress of the day has given me a headache, and I know that all I really need is a peaceful night's sleep, Tylenol PM helps get me through the night.
I suffer for migraines as well as tension headaches. While I have Rx medication for my migraines, I'm left to my own devices with the tension headaches. Regular pain medications didn't help and I'd be up all night rolling my neck and placing cold...
Pros: Sleep aid /Pain Reliever Cons: None that I am aware
If you have trouble sleeping or are just having trouble sleeping due to aches and pains, this might be your product. As like with all medicines, you should check with your doctor before taking any medications. Myself, I have had problems sleeping due...
Pros: Tylenol PM is excellent for persons experiencing both pain and sleeplessness
Cons: If a person is not experiencing both
symptoms, why take Tylenol PM ?
Because of personal problems I was experiencing
difficulty in falling to sleep 2 or 3 times per
month. One Tylenol PM caplet
usually made me
sleep within about 30 minutes. Sleep lasted about
4 to 6 hours. Initial grogginess...
Pros: Works great but is gentle at the same time. Cons: ???
Does this sound like you? It's 3:30am and even though you are DEAD tired you can't get to sleep. Why? Because of the pain. Whether it be head ache, tooth ache, muscle ache or any other ache you can think of this is your answer! ...
Go to bed with a bad headache and wake up lagging. Does this sound fun, try Tylenol PM? Tylenol PM makes you think that you will fall asleep quickly after you take it, but you end up staying up, wondering when you will ever go to sleep.
Pros: relieves headaches and helps you get good rest. Cons: none that i can tell of
Well, to start off, i must say that i do have those nights where i am just wide awake and god knows i need some good ole rest. Wandering around the house at 3am isn't particularly a good idea if you need rest and as i said, i do need my rest. so i was at...
Pros: Helps you sleep. Gets rid of the headache initially. Cons: Woke up with a horrible headache!
This might work for some people. But I came across a problem with it. I had a mix of the body aches, and a head ache. I began to feel tired about 45 minutes after taking the tablets. I do believe the pain reliever did work initially. However, when my...
Pros: Works quickly Cons: Need at least 8 full hours of sleep for these to wear off
I had a sample of this stuff and after tossing and turning one night for 3 hours I decided to give it a shot. At 1am I took it not really reading the directions and having to get up at 6:30am. Within minutes I was happily snoring away in lala land. For...
Pros: Terrific sleep aid. Cons: Next day grogginess.
This is a very good sleep aid. I didn't think about taking it for pain until I read the Epinion reviews. It puts you to sleep, and you sleep throughout the night. The good thing is, you can get it in generic form; much cheaper than the name brand. The downside is the fact that you are groggy the next day.
I have been going through a rough time and experimenting with sleeping pills. So after Unisom and a couple others didn't work for me, I decided to try Tylenol PM since the brand is so popular. I did work for me, but I did get an upset stomach from this. I slept pretty good except for the fact that the stomach ache woke me up and I had to take something for that. I also was pretty sore from this stuff. Two pills is the recommended dosage, and that maybe be just too much. If you do decided to take this product, I would only start out with one.
I have had better luck with Simply Sleep however, which does not have the pain reliever.
Tylenol is a pretty good brand though... I would try this before anything else.
HORRIBLE REACTION TO ONE TYLENOL P> by iloveandy ,Jun 27 '05
Pros: THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NONE. Cons: DIZZINESS, HORRIBLE HALLUCINATIONS, COLD SWEATS, DROWSINESS THE NEXT DAY.
I took only ONE Tylenol PM and had a horrible reaction, and i mean HORRIBLE. This is to warn everyone out there. You will rarely see anything on TYLENOL PM being dangerous..most doctors will tell you it's not if taken in normal doses, but i only took ONE, and broke out in horrible sweats, and actually hallucinated for three hours last night. I took it around 8:00 p.m., and until 1:30 on the morning i felt horribly sick. At one point while lying in bed, i tried to get up and it felt like this force was pushing me back down on the bed. i had to lie there for an hour starring at my clock, it was paralyzing. first i tried lifting my body, then just my head. it was scarey. then i couldn't swallow..literally. it took me three times to try to swallow until i could. i've taken alot of different meds in my time, over the counter, but this was the WORST. This is just to warn people. also, the drowsiness the next day is horrible. thanks for reading.
Warning: Day after wasn't pleasant. Very dizzy and groggy by klockman ,Mar 27 '06
Pros: Reduced headache (as good as any other product) and made sleep come faster. Cons: Didn't keep me asleep very long and felt extremely groggy, dizzy and drugged.
I took this b/c i had a toothache that was causing me to not be able to sleep. I figured it would fight the headache/pain and allow me to get some rest. It did help me fall asleep but i woke up only 5 hours later. I walked around and felt very groggy and dizzy at times. It was a bit like being drunk but i would have to say it was more of a drugged feeling. I didn't realize how strange it felt until hours later when the effect wore off and my head was no longer clouded.
I read many reviews saying that 2 pills is too many for some people and maybe that's the cause for me but i won't be taking this again. Next time i'll just take some normal headache medicine and fall asleep naturally.
Tylenol PM can cause Restless Leg Syndrome and depression. by metoona ,Jul 14 '06
Pros: Some people seem to be able to take this medication without any side effects. Cons: This medication can have side effects such as Restless Leg Syndrome.
I just read a review from another Epinion member who said he/she developed Restless Leg Syndrome after taking Tylenol PM. After taking 2 Tylenol PM caplets right before bedtime for some minor pain and sleeplessness, I too developed Restless Leg Syndrome. I took the medication just that one time, but I will never, EVER, take it again. I experienced just about the worse night's sleep of my life. Not only did I have restless leg syndrome, I had restless "body" syndrome. My legs and my entire body jerked and thrashed about all night long. Even though I was unable to get any sleep, that I was aware of, it was like a nightmare from which I could not awaken. In addition, the after effects caused me to feel dull and depressed for the next couple of days. It's difficult to imagine that the other member and myself are the only people who have ever experienced this reaction. Beware!
Works...but...at a price. by junkyfunk ,Mar 29 '04
Pros: Will help you sleep. Cons: Has the side effect of giving you headaches during the day. Also addictive.
Tylenol PM works - the combination of the anti-histamine and the acetaminophen will put you under and fall asleep. The thing is though - I started getting headaches during the day - it is quite addictive. If you use it, I recommend Simply Sleep instead, which is Tylenol PM without the Tylenol.
Tylenol PM caused me to have Restless Leg Syndrome by dbellwills ,Oct 20 '08
Pros: None! Do not take this product! Cons: It kills your liver AND causes Restless Leg Syndrome!
I never knew what rls was until I took Tylenol PM. My mother has it and she described it to me however I couldn't imagine what that felt like until. . . .I took Tylenol PM! It happened to me 3 times before I realized that it was the Tylenol that caused this eerie, tinglely and creeping feeling not just in my legs but my whole body. Funny thing for me is that it only effected my left side. It was last night after taking two pills that I realized the correlation between the rls and taking Tylenol PM. It really doesn't help me to sleep but after a couple of hours was tired on my own and thats when the side effect of rls started creeping up my leg into my chest. It was so extreme it made me feel like I was loosing my mind! At one point I started hitting my leg with my fist from the frustration of this overwhelming urge to move. I will NEVER take this medicine again. And I am throwing away the remaining pills! I will revert to taking ONLY the natural sleep aids l normally take.
BEWARE- THIS IS A DANGEROUS PILL by mckesson17 ,Oct 29 '08
Pros: I just called Tylenol. I am very satisfied by how they handled my concerns. Cons: Please use caution when taking Tylenol PM.
This pill made me feel worse than anything I've ever taken before. I took 2 Tylenol PM's last night at 9pm. It's 215pm the next day, and I'm just beginning to feel better! About an hour after taking the pills my heart bagan to race, I developed body tremmors (yes, my body would jerk around and I couldn't control it), all of my senses seemed extraordinarily sensitive (even bothersome), my feet and hands began to tingle and every sound or light made me jump. About an hour after taking the pills my heart bagan to race, I developed body tremmors (yes, my body would jerk around and I couldn't control it), all of my senses seemed extraordinarily sensitive (even bothersome), my feet and hands began to tingle and every sound or light made me jump. Three hours into this nightmare I took a Xanax to calm my body. Without the Xanax I would have never fallen asleep. I woke up this morning and still felt horrible- with very similar symptoms from last night. I have been completely worthless all day! I've taken plenty of medicine in my day- but I've never felt like this before.
RE: Tylenol PM....try Melatonin by tkellyhunnie ,Apr 23 '09
Pros: Melatonin- It's natural, herbal, no grogginess the next day at all. Cons: I have no cons on tylenol P.M...just recommending something else 2 try.
I have not personally taken Tylenol P.M...however I have read so many things about it...I was trying to decide if i should take it...now i'm thinking that I will not. I don't want to be groggy the next day. Therefore, I recommend taking Melatonin..it's natural. It comes in a bottle w/ an eye dropper & u squeeze that into your mouth or a small cup of water (5 drops). It tastes sweet. It really works great. I don't believe in many things. But, i took it and in about 30-45 mins later, I started getting really sleepy. Then I woke up the next day normal. No grogginess or anything. Melatonin also comes in pill form too. I recommend this to anyone to try first...Before tylenol p.m. etc...i don't take it all the time. But when i need to go to sleep, it's there! Good luck & try it or look it up online :)Your friend, T
Tylenol Pm caused Restless Leg Syndrome, Racing Heart, Insomnia by sierra0608 ,Jun 20 '08
Pros: This product works great for my mother, but not for me. Cons: Side effects of Restless leg syndrome. Read my review.
I took 2 Tylenol PM gel caps at around 11pm last night. At 3:30am, I was awoken by restless leg and arm syndrome, my heart was racing, and a complete wide awake feeling. I just had a horrible experience. My skin felt like it was itching all over and I had dry mouth. Unbelievably scary feeling. It took me about 2 hours to get over this and I prayed to God to help me get back to sleep and thankfully he answered my prayer and I did get back to sleep. I will never take this product again. I have had much better results with cough syrup containing codeine.
