There's nothing new under the sun. And if you want proof of that, just look at this summer's movie line up. We've have a huge number of threequels, and they were based on books or comics or even theme park rides. Then comes this movie. It's a live action ...
Pros: Peter Dinklage and Patrick Warburton inject some humor into this lifeless film. Cons: This isn't the Underdog of my childhood.
He certainly wasn't in this mess of a movie. I am old enough to remember the delightful Underdog cartoons from my childhood. A poorly animated but fun filled cartoon featured a small dog, Shoeshine boy, who became Underdog wherever there was trouble. ...

My wife and I have a female beagle named Lucy, so my parents got us the DVD of Underdog because the dog in the movie had similar color and markings to our Lucy. I really had no intention of seeing the movie, but it made a neat gift and so we sat ...

Pros: Fun story, tributes to 1960's cartoons, not too scary for the pups. Cons: A few too many poop jokes.
My boys and I are fans of Underdog. We have several DVDs with episodes from the 1964 cartoon, and my 3 and 5 year old sons both like them as much as any modern 'toon. Truth be told, both Shoeshine Boy (the mild mannered alter ego) and Underdog (the ...

Pros: The dog's mouths look great while talking! Cute. Cons: Misses as being enjoyable for adults
I felt like this looked absolutely horrible in the trailers and avoided it for quite some time. I was forced to rent and watch this by a child and have to admit it wasn't as tortuous as expected, but would still classify this as purely child fare. ...
We watched this and thoroughly enjoyed it. The little beagle that played the part of Underdog was so cute. I thought the story line was very appropriate for children of all ages. The conversations between the dog and the humans was very funny. Also when Underdog interacted with other animals, the way it was done was very believable. I also thought the movie had a good message..good wins over evil. The casting of the characters was very well thought out and each fit into their role perfectly.
It was a fun movie to watch. It is one I will enjoy watching again with my grandchildren. It will appeal to people of all ages.
