Uniden 1080 1.9 GHz 1-Line Cordless Phone

Pros: nice paper weight, although no real gravitas
Cons: nearly impossible to figure out; defectively designed

If AT&T deliberately set out to design the most confusing phone with the worst operating instructions, they could not have achieved the engineering disaster that is this phone. Not only won't you be able to figure out how to work it's features (the user interface is terrible, and the instructions -- divided, imcomprehensibly, between two different manuals are nearly impossible to decode), but it does not even do what it promises in tandem with other phones on the system, like allow a 1040 model user to retrieve messages in the system mailbox on the 1080. I painstakingly followed these instructions, and with a message waiting, could not retrieve it. Save your money and time and look elsewhere.
