Pros: Full answering machine control on handsets! Great sound quality of conversations & messages.
Cons: Only 12 minutes of answering machine message time, only 1 or 4 minute per message.

Summary: These are the best phones I have ever owned! I actually have TRU9485-4WR, it comes with a "submersible" handset as well, it is the same as TRU9485-3 plus the "submersible" handset. As reviewed by others, it has the awesome ability of getting your ... read more

  • Two Lemons In A Row?

Pros: 1. # of Features for the Value 2. Expandability 3. Informative display & Answering machine
Cons: 1. Poor Sound Quality (Intermittent) 2. Customer Service Wait Times Long (at least 30 minutes)

Summary: We needed a phone that wouldn't interfere with our wireless network, which runs on the 2.4 Ghz frequency range. Plus, we needed an answering machine(we got rid of voicemail thru our phone-service). Shopped around and read some positive reviews for ... read more

Pros: 10 handset expandability Great call transfer between handsets
Cons: Room monitor/ intercom feature has restrictions when phone is "in use"

Summary: I just bought the TRU 9485 (2 handsets and base) and also bought an additional 5 handsets (Big house, and many children). From what I can tell so far the phones seem to work just as I would expect, and the sound is very good. However, there are a couple ... read more

  • Brand name quality without the price

Rated a Somewhat Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Nov 13, 2006
Pros: Well built, clear sound, lots of features, good price
Cons: No auto clock time change feature for daylight saving time.

Summary: There was a time when Uniden was cheap low end, low quality equipment. Of course, the price matched the quality. I am happy to say, this phone compares in quality and features with higher end brand name models and the price is still cheaper. Two years ... read more

Pros: features, ease of set-up, range, clarity, Base-Speakerphone
    Cons: see my review

Summary: Uniden has almost got the perfect cordless phone here with the TRU9485 (2). I am very satisfied with this item. Like most, I have specific requirements and wish lists for a multi-handset cordless phone system. After exhaustive research into available ... read more

  • Uniden TRU9485-2 5.8 GHz - do not buy without atleast a year warranty

    Pros: Cool features
Cons: Broken in 6 months after a power fluctuation.

Summary: I purchased the Uniden TRU9485-2 5.8 GHz Digital Cordless Answering System from Amazon or some place online. It was factory refurbished, which was a mistake on my part. It has cool features like room monitoring, intercom et all... but it has stopped

  • Constant audio interference on handset

    Pros: Speakerphone is good.
Cons: Intermittent audio interference on handset only a foot from base station ruins conversations.

Summary: We have two TRU9485 base station/handset units with the same following problem: 1. http://www.fixya.com/support/t 2839142-uniden_tru9485_handset _intermittent makes swishing sound approximately every 10 seconds, interfering with caller's voice.2.

Pros: Many nice features, pretty easy to program, nice answering machine.
Cons: No ability to identify type of number when two on entry in phone book.

Summary: Rarely can I say that. The only question is will it last. But it is packed with features and surprisingly fairly intuitive to setup. I bought one extra handset. One thing that was annoying until I discovered a feature was the phone book on each

Pros: Excellent audio quality, multiple handsets, answering machine.
    Cons: I don't think it's water resistant

Summary: This is exactly the phone I wanted when I found myself in the market for a new cordless. I recently installed a wireless LAN and discovered that my old Panasonic 2.4 GHz. phone interfered with it. I bought a new 5.8 GHZ Panasonic phone but was

Pros: Nice feature set, the selectable ring feature is nice, especially with the xmas jingle.
Cons: if voice quality is the most important thing, this one fails

Summary: I've read nothing but great reviews on this unit but when I got one home, every one I talked to said it sounded like I was in a tunnel. Sure enough, had my girlfriend call me on it and it sounded like she was in a tunnel. Nice feature set but

  • Great phone with a minor complaint

    Nov 2, 2006
Pros: Very clear reception, a lot of features, great battery life.
Cons: Caller-id (see review), max volume is still not very loud

Summary: I don't use my land-line very much but of the few uses, I must say that phones have come a long way since I remembered them last. I was intentional in choosing a 5.8ghz phone as opposed to 2.4 because I have heard that 2.4 will interfere with wireless

  • Very pleased with this purchase

Pros: Attractive style, clear sound, most versatile unit
Cons: only 10 speed dial buttons

Summary: Based on the positive reviews we bought the unit at Costco for $140 CDN (including base and 3 handsets). I was concerned about the ergonomics of cradling the handset between the neck and shoulder, with the hands free to wipe dishes. I discovered that
