Pros: nice warranty, safe handling
Cons: none
A homeless nail decided to take up residency in my rear tire so I went and introduced myself to the folks at the tire store. They weren’t particularly nice folks since they insisted that all four of my tires were, should we say, a little past their ...

Uniroyal- Somewhat like Firestone?

by gfm , Dec 05 '01
Pros: I didn't find any.
Cons: Quality of the tires.
I never had any experience with Uniroyal tires until I purchased my 1997 GMC Jimmy. It had Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires as standard equipment. I didn't like them from the beginning because they howled even when just turning into a parking space at low speed...

Good Quality Tire
by hiro_miyamoto ,Jan 21 '05
Pros: Very good dry traction, decent handling characteristics, quiet ride.
Cons: Premium price, poor treadlife, average wet/snow/ice traction.
When I purchased my 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan ES, it was equipped with Uniroyal Tigerpaw AWPs sized at 215/60R16. The original tires that were on the vehicle according to Chrysler were Michelin MX4s, and the previous owner decided to upgrade to these Uniroyal Tigerpaw AWPs. That was a good choice. These tires have very good dry traction and respond well to the road. They have a softer rubber compound when compared to other tires, which makes this a quiet tire. It's performance in the rain is average, just as well as snow and ice conditions. It's lack of torque locking tread blocks limit it's winter and wet weather capabilities. One major drawback to this tire is the treadlife. I was surprised to get less than 60,000km out of a tire that was priced over $140 each. The price of the tire does not justify it's performance, however. It's a good quality tire that's priced higher than it should be. Overall I would recommend this tire if you can get it at a discounted price, otherwise check out other tire brands and models.
