Pros: I have 6 remotes and this one replaced all with no problems. I love it. Cons: No macro buttons except for all power down. But I don't need that anyway.
I bought this remote and didn't think a lot about it at first. I have 6 remotes hanging around. Friends that come over are confused as to which one does what. And, I have to admit that I get confused sometimes too. I have had lots of "learning ...
Pros: Has enough buttons to do everything my current remotes can, and is easy to use. Cons: Umm...takes AAA batteries instead of AA?
I've been quite hesitant in the past to use a universal remote, as I'm not willing to spend a great deal on one, and most of the ones I've seen don't have enough buttons to replicate all the features my other remotes have. Recently though, I got fed up ...
Pros: Very low price for Expressvu 5100/5800/5900 PVR remote and what it does.
Cons: Guide and exit buttons are the same color as the others. Hard to find sometimes.
I've been looking for a replacement for my UHF ExpressVu 5800 PVR remote because the original did not control my TV volume adequately. This is the one I chose because of it's very reasonable price. I paid $12.99 for this remote plus shipping. All the ...
So my dad has some fancy-schmancy Sony remote that can probably fly the Space Shuttle. You can press 800 buttons on it and it gets up and does an Aboriginal Rain Dance while remotely activating a ukulele in Singapore. Unfortunately my mother can’t figure ...
Killer remote - but discontinued? by solinas ,Dec 03 '05
Pros: Simple to program (took about 2 minutes). Works great. Cons: NONE!
I love this thing. I have 4 rooms with TVs and a variety of other equipment - all different. I have a remote (or two) in each room, and the are all set to work the same but handle the different equipment in each room. Very simple - the controls all operate the same.
Master Power is set to turn off whatever equipment in the room I want.
Volume controls the TV volume, regardless of which device is currently selected.
Simple to use.
I believe the URC-6131 has been replaced with the URC-6131N. I looked for the Non-N and they are getting harder to find. So - I stocked up on the N version (bought a dozen), to last me a few years.
Great Remote. Great Price. Best Universal Remote I Have Ever Bought! by xaviermba2003 ,Mar 09 '04
Pros: Does everything I want. No complaints. Cons: I gotta list a "con". Well, it does not have a display (who cares!).
It's really too bad that not too many people will read this. I usually only use these boards when making big-ticket purchases. I did check ePinions because I just had to believe that someone could make an inexpensive remote that handles my basic needs. This remote is it.
I have a Toshiba TV, Toshiba DVD, and a Symphonic VCR. This remote handles all these devices without a hitch. I've paid for more expensive universal remotes that don't work as well as this $14 remote I bought at Wal-Mart.
Great Remote. Very Compatible. by stevewysocki ,Feb 12 '04
Pros: Work very well. Controls everything well. Works with tivo as well as the original remote Cons: Sleep timer on stereo doesn't work and dvd fast forward is slow.
Work very well. Controls everything I have - stereo, tivo, vcr, dvd. You can program the remote so even if dvd is selected, the volume buttons will work on the receiver volume or tv speaker volume.
