Truly works right away, but must continue use...

by jp2388 , Jan 19 '09
Pros: CHEAP!!, works fast,
Cons: redness for at most 20 minutes after use, dries up skin, 3-step process
I've tried every single acne fighting "fix" since I was in 4th grade...I was an early-acne child.  It was really bad.  I tried clearsil, neutragena, proactiv, everything you could find googling the topic "acne-fixes", but everything worked for ...

Mixed Feelings On This Product

by cherow , Jan 24 '08
Pros: Price, Availability and easy to use
Cons: Texture of product and severe drying
I have been using this product for a week now and I have noticed changes good and Bad! Cleanser: Texture is a little runny and if you're not careful and quick half of it will end up in the sink or on your clothes. The directions says to lather but ...

Overhyped, but worth a try

by caitthegreat , Feb 10 '08
Pros: Price Not terribly irritating
Cons: Smell Benzoyl peroxide can be drying Over hyped
I have the skin from hell. Dry, sensitive, and, of course, acne prone. I've been to several dermatologists, all of whom prescribed topicals that turned my skin into a red scaly desert - not really an improvement from acne. Thus, with Acutane as my ...

VERY Dissapointed.

by curseten , Feb 12 '09
Pros: Worked for 1 day. LOOKED Professional.
Cons: Bleaches everything, dries out skin EXTREMELY, burns, NO information about product in box.
In the beginning, I thought this product was going to work. The first two days or so had my face looking a LITTLE better. By the third day, my face was a desert. This product is horrible. It has made my face a complete wreck. It has burned it badly. It ...

Wasted my money
by amandalane ,Jan 25 '05
Pros: None
Cons: HURTS!!! Too much money just for irritation.
I had to stop using this product after just a couple of days because my face was extremely irritated. It was red and blotchy and hurt. It felt like someone scrubbed my face with sand paper. The moisturizer was not at all moisturizing. It felt like there was sand in it. Then my face started to peel and flake which was highly attractive. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I'm sure it works for some people, but I just couldn't take the pain and stinging.

This stuff works!
by wishlist ,Jun 14 '04
Pros: Three easy steps and you're finished!
Cons: Avoiding sunlight. But, it is well worth it for clear skin!
I am a 35 year old woman and I have had terrible acne in my t zone, especially my chin, below my lip area, for years.
My friend tried to get me to use the more popular brand, but i saw this at a local store for half the price so i picked it up. This is no lie. If they ever stop making this stuff i will die! lol. IT WORKS! This is the first time i have been acne free since 6th grade. NO pimples. I am on my forth new box of this stuff, and I love it! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to whoever made this medicine. I just had to share this with you because, i know if i can be clear of pimples, you may be able to also. I mean i get those deep big pimples that won't go away for months, and leave scars.
Try it. You'll be glad you did!

WOW! Better than ProActiv-at 1/2 the price!!!
by jen52683 ,Jul 03 '04
Pros: WORKS AWESOME! CHEAP! EASY TO GET AT WALMART!
Cons: Hey, it works...I don't want them to change a thing!
Oh wow. Thats all I can say. As a 21 year old female I haven't had a clear face for almost 10 years. I never had extremely bad acne so prescriptions weren't for me. But, I don't wear makeup and I wash my face 2x a day and I still always had at least a few zits. So, I tried ProActiv and while it did help, for $40 I wasn't happy with it. I wanted a completely clear face damnit. So, after 2 months I discontinued it and decided to try this product at Walmart for 1/2 the price. Within 3 days, I had no zits! (and I was pms-ing!!!) I still can't believe it. I did end up getting 1 zit a week later...but I can definetly handle that! I'm so in love with this product, it has made me so confident and everytime I look in the mirror, I can't believe it! YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS!!!

IT'S CHEAPER BUT ITS DEFINITELY NOT BETTER
by ladybug2021 ,Jul 12 '04
Pros: The price and convenience drew me in.
Cons: The cleanser, toner, and repairing lotion stung terribly!
The price and others comments is what convinced me to buy it, unfortunately my face broke out in an ugly rash. Now I am waiting for it to go away so I can go back to my other skin routine.

This has surprised me... and I'm never surprised.
by philosophia ,Oct 07 '06
Pros: Only thing that has worked.
Cons: Small portions in bottles, and lotion isn't moisturizing.
I'm a 21-year-old female, who has had acne for 8 years. I've tried pro-active. I've tried anti-biotics. I've tried all kinds of prescription topical agents including benzol peroxide. I've tried all of the OTC cleansers and the latter, and this has been the only thing that has worked.

My acne used to be mild to moderate, but started to get much worse about 7 months ago due to stress and new lifestyle habits. I still break out, but not nearly as much, and my skin is overall much smoother.

I have fair skin that is undeniably sensitive, and my only disclaimer is to not overuse the product and to stay out of the sun if you're prone to getting fried like I am.

So far so good
by irishbum04 ,Sep 28 '05
Pros: Low price, easy access (Wal-Mart), seems to work well.
Cons: Skin slightly tender but nothing unbearable.
I think I've been using Acne free for three or four days now and I'm already seeing an improvement. I know, maybe it's too early to say, but everything thing else I've ever tried has failed miserably, with the exception of that highly potent prescription drug Accutane.

I'm a 26 year old male who's been suffering from acne since I was in my early teens. My problem now tends to be the occasional zit and minor breakouts on the forehead. Acnefree has started to fight off the few spots I have and I can't yet feel the telltale signs of any new pimples.

So, so far so good. We'll see how it is in a few weeks.

The Only Thing that Works
by ravenlll ,Jul 18 '05
Pros: Cost, Easy to Use, Effectiveness
Cons: None! Not one!!
I have had severe cystic acne since I was in elementary school. I am now 43 and still suffer from acne. I have very sensitive skin and just about everything makes me break out.

I have used just about every product on the market including ProActiv AND have used most prescription medications topical and otherwise, and nothing ever worked for me until I tried Acne Free by University Medical. In two days I saw definitive changes in my skin and by day 5 for the first time in my life my face was totally clear! If I use Acne Free consistently (morning and night) I don't even break out during my period which is unheard of for me.

If you have acne, try this product. It WORKS! No hype. Acne Free is amazing and I hope they never stop making it. Thank you University Medical.

Did not work

Former Proactive User and AcneFree user, Now Severe AcneFree
by whitdet11446 ,Feb 04 '07
Pros: Price, less time for blemishes to fade away.
Cons: doesn't reduce the amount of blemishes, Corrective toner doesn't last long enough
I was originally a Proactive user for 3 years with minimal to moderate success. I switched to AcneFree after seeing it at Meijers in the Detroit area and price difference with Proactive. I used the AcneFree for 2 months with no success. I switched to Severe AcneFree and have used that for nearly 4 months. So far the results have been moderate. Severe AcneFree seems to make blemishes go away faster than Proactive. However, it seems that Severe AcneFree has not reduced the rate of blemishes that appear. Finally, the corrective toner should last longer.
