Pros: Great features, excellent sound quality, good battery life, easy to use Cons: Speakerphone cancels out some relevant sound, battery compartment a bit vulnerable
I purchased the VTech VTI 5866/ VTI 5803 Twin Cordless Phone System in 2005. Up until this purchase, it seemed every cordless phone I had purchased had been a disaster. They all started out great, but would cease to function correctly after a few ...
Pros: Good size, AA NiMH Rechargable batteries, excellent sound quality. Works flawlessly with 802.11g. Cons: None so far. Ask me again in a few years, though.
Instead of giving you a review going into detail on everything this phone can do (read the manual online - it is available here: http://www.vtechphones.com/vte

Pros: PC Connectivity, Color Screen, 5.8 ghz operating band, Multi base system compatible. Cons: It does interfere with 802.11 networks. Handset size, 256 color screen, Limited PC Connectivity.
**Update 6/13/05** After months of use, I do now have one complaint! Ghosting! I am assuming my wireless 802.11b network is somehow interefering. A quick turn off and turn on gets another channel, but if I don't I get a ghosting type sound or even a ...
Pros: Size, quality, appearance, AA batteries (!!!), PRICE Cons: None so far
This expansion handset is as good as it claims to be. We purchased our six months ago along with the i5866 base phone. We have 802.11g in our small house and have never had any interference problems at all. Everything about this phone is 5.8 GHz, so ...
Pros: Other than the listed problems, the rest of the features seem ok. Very cool design. Cons: Please see review...
The i5853 is ok. The appearance is excellent not too many phones look this cool. BUT...There are what I consider to be three major problems, four if you count the customer service. 1. The caller ID stores the numbers like a cell phone without the number ...
I purchased the Vtech 5866 November 10, 2004 and didn't receive the phones (which came from Hong Kong), until November 17th, 2004. I noticed problems with the main phone (5866) and the two add ons (5803) immediately. After recording an outgoing message ...
Pros: functions, ring tones, dependability Cons: sound quality - echos a lot even when close to the base.
I love the ring choices - most are not obnoxious. However, the echo that occurs with most calls makes the phone seem cheap. The looks could use some enhancement as well, but I was just looking for a usable phone. While the phone is functionally acceptable, I would have expected more from a phone that costs as much as this one.
