Pros: Offers privacy and helps with odor control when the hood is on. Cons: Cuddles won't use it as a hooded litter box.
Having two cats that spend half of their time out front on the couch and then the other half in the bedroom makes it a necessity to have two litter boxes. We have a large one out front, but a smaller one in the back, so we went to replace the smaller ...
Pros: Privacy for the kitty, more odor control, litter stays in the box Cons: None
When I needed a new litterbox because I grew weary of the constant litter being tossed out of the opened litterbox and onto the floor, I was determined to find one where I no longer had this daily clean up problem.
There were several reasons why we bought this litter box for our 1 1/2 year old cat Smoky. The litterbox that he had been using was a small litterbox that he's used since he was a little kitten. He fit inside the box but it was getting a little snug. A ...
Pros: has been better than any box I have ever used Cons: Making sure the top is properly attached to the base.
About a year and a half ago I met my kitten "Old Sparkie". I found him on the prison grounds I was working at and wanted to give him a good home. I was out on a quest to find him a litter box, litter, food, and all the necessary cat toys to ensure ...
Pros: Enclosed, private, sturdy. Great for multi-cat or large cats Cons: I think the filter is a waste
I hate open cat boxes. First of all, who wants to look at a pile of cat doodie every time you walk past it? Secondly, my cats were scratching and tearing at the liners. By the end of the week, the liner was torn, shredded and buried and there was pee ...
Pros: Less litter outside the box! Great value! Cons: Kittens could pull out filter to chew on.
After about a month of constantly sweeping the floor near the litter box and feeling that I was walking on a beach whenever I went in my bathroom barefoot I decided to break down and buy a new litter box for my two kittens. It had to be enclosed for the ...
Pros: Less odor, less rocks flying through your kitchen Cons: You might not clean it as often as it is easily forgotten
So a while back I inherited a cat from my grandmother. The cat came with a small plastic pan for cat-litter. This pan wasn’t so bad, except that my cat has a habit of enthusiastically burying her business. Normally this may be a good thing, but in this ...
Pros: huge; keeps the dust and litter levels down Cons: many corners inside are tough to dig out
Those poor cats. Their need to be clean coupled with a need to not be watched relegates them to the corners of any apartment to which we move. Originally the litter box was stuck the only place it would fit, a corner of the kitchen right behind the front ...
Pros: No litter on my floor, love the handle. Cons: My cat is afraid of it.
My cat stinks.
No, he really does; you can't imagine. It isn't a medical condition, there's nothing wrong with him, it's just one of his more unattractive quirks. That is the primary reason I figured an enclosed litter box would help my Max...
Pros: Inexpensive. Cons: Can leak because of poor seam design.
I bought this litterbox to replace an older one made by Stylette. The Stylette was a covered box as well, slightly larger than the Van Ness. My cat was having a problem urinating and was aiming high and hitting the area where the top and bottom half ...
Pros: Good product; cover hides unsightly litter, cat seems more secure, charcoal filters work. Cons: Bad liners sold to fit boxes don't fit at all.
I have used the Van Ness cat litter boxes, and their associated charcoal filters in two sizes. Excellent products.
However, the disposable Van Ness drawstring plastic liners which were supposedly made to fit the Van Ness boxes do not fit.
The bags would fit fine in a litter box shaped like a canoe with a sharp keel. The bags are just envelope-shaped, and not box-shaped at all. They don't really fit the boxes very well at all; there are wrinkles and folds of plastic. Having bought the more expensive box, I'd pay a bit more for liners that actually fit.
Pros: Sturdy, reliable and long lasting. Cons: None
I have had a Van Ness litter box for years and it is by far the best on the market. I have three wonderful kitties that use to throw their litter every which way before I got the enclosed model. Now we are both very happy, they can shift their litter and bury all they want and I get to keep a clean house. The box is big and sturdy and the top has been removed every day for the past five years and the clips are still in perfect condition. I have the biggest model they make and my largest cat, who is 25 pounds, (what can I say, he is big boned) has no trouble using it at all and has plenty of room to turn around and do his business. I highly recommend Van Ness litter boxes.
Jumbo Size version is Great for multi cat households by nemkutya ,Jan 28 '04
Pros: Large Size is Great for multi cat households. The price is very reasonable Cons: None
We have several cats and just switched all of our cat boxes over to the Jumbo size version of this box. They work fantastic and hold up well. I've tried other litter boxes like the ones with a scoop and bags located in the top and those were a pain to clean!
Van Ness Enclosed Kitty Litter Box by jollyrancher00 ,Jan 12 '04
Pros: I loved this product because it's spacious for my cats and odors were locked in. Cons: I thought this litter box was all good, and there isn't a thing I regret.
This litter box is wonderful! It is spacious for my cats to do their business, and they can move around if they need to. I decided to purchase this product when I was in the store and started looking at the quality of it. It seemed alright, so I decided to purchase it and I'm glad I did. I love this product because its spacious, big, and it keeps odors locked inside the box. Not all around my bathroom! Haha, there is nothing I would take back about this box, it's one of the best purchases I have made for my 3 cats!
