Really thorough and comprehensive course

by busterbluth , Jun 27 '09
Pros: Super comprehensive, smart instructor, tons of practice questions
Cons: Not a big deal, but probably too many books to keep track of
Even though I had taken the LSAT years before and scored well, I was really worried when it came time to take the GMAT after my career plans changed.  I hadn't studied any math in years and I feared what might happen to my quant score.  Turns ...

Veritas is worth the time and money!

by dktorontoNew Member , Dec 16 '09
Pros: Course organization, instructors and access to mock tests.
Cons: Cost is high, but definitely a worthwhile investment
My experience with Veritas this past fall was nothing but positive. As soon as you register and pay, you receive your course material within days. The in-class portion of the program was so helpful not only because it gave you a chance to go over ...

The real deal
by duckiep ,Jul 06 '09
Pros: Lots of prep materials, very clear frameworks, awesome instructor
Cons: Not everyone in the class is at same level, wish it started before 7 pm
I relied exclusively on Veritas for preparing for the GMAT. The material was well organized and THOROUGH, and the instructor went above and beyond my expectations. I would say that he is in the top two or three teachers I have ever had, in any subject, at any level. He had very clear explanations for all of the concepts, and not once did anyone stump him, although God knows that one guy in my class sure tried.

If you want to score above 700, take the full 42 hour course (meets on weeknights)! Also, I took a practice test before I began. I recommend that, as it will help you mentally get started. Also, review the "math basics" book that they will send you. This is important especially if you have not done college level math for a long time. It covers a lot of the basics that you may have forgotten.

Overall, I think this course is an almost surefire way to beat the GMAT.

Vertis Prep Student
by d_in_chi ,Oct 13 '09
Pros: Thorough review of quant and verbal topics
Person to review AWA essays
Online classes
Cons: The in-person classes are limited in the cities and schedule offered.
I took the weekend course and found that it was incredibly helpful in preparing for the GMAT exam. I looked into other courses but felt that they just taught tricks on how guess the correct answer. Veritas Prep not only teaches information essential for suceeding on the exam, but they offer a very thorough review of both grammer and mathematics. I found the weekend courses to be well worth the $1,200 (much less than other companies) plus the schedule worked out well given my busy work schedule. And, if you need to review a specific topic covered in class, all of the lessons are offered online.

I have already seen a significant increase in my score ( 150pts) from the practice exam I took before the course. With the numberous practice questions and exams I am confident that my score will only get better.

Probably the most comprehensive program out there
by brousef ,Jul 08 '09
Pros: Really good instructors, lots of material, really good strategies and content.
Cons: Call center stops taking phone calls at 4pm.  Seems early.
They definitely give you a lot to work with and it pays off.  15 books, 42 hours of classroom time, all of which are spent reviewing material and not taking practice tests or something.  The instructor really seemed to know his stuff and teach it to us too.  Guess you better be good to score in the top 1%!  I really liked the support system too.  You can call a teacher during some hours and if they're off, you can shoot them an email and they almost always respond in less than 24 hours.  I also really just liked their brand.  They seemed legit, and elite.  They even had classes at a 5-star resort-style hotel!

Did what it needed to do .... teacher was good .... materials were good
by phinphin ,Jun 27 '09
Pros: Teacher was excellent, helped supplement questions on the concepts, strats, love life, whatever....
Cons: Typos in the books .... not bad at all but epinions wanted a con.
I took a GMAT course last fall.  Teacher was good and I appreciated that he actually cared if I got a high score or not.  After trying to self-study I said fukit and bought a course.  I would recommend this course to others but I really do not know what else to compare it to besides books you can buy on Amazon.

Bar None The Best GMAT prep
by johnnyvols ,Sep 30 '09
Pros: Resources: books, quizes, practice exams, ability to view a missed class, etc...
Cons: The online class would at times be an issue.
Here is why Veritas stands above the rest: resources, instruction and aid. They provide with at least 15 practice tests, books and online quizes. My instructor was quite GMAT savvy and took the time to answer my questions - even if it meant answering them over the weekend. The aids that Veritas provides cannot be matched. I had help with my homework, essays, and any other problems that came up during the course. If you are considering GMAT prep courses, I would highly recommend this company.

Fantastic Prep Course
by scojo123 ,Nov 09 '09
Pros: Incredibly comprehensive; on-demand course permits schedule flexibility; practive problems and tests galore.
Cons: Veritas offers a lengthy program ;requires a strong level of commitment to improving your score
Veritas has really developed a fantastic program and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Prior to starting the Veritas lessons, I scored a 610 on a practice exam. Last week, upon completing the course, I took the GMAT and scored a 730. Their curriculum does a great job of teaching you all the material that is testable, as well as the most efficient way to go about attacking questions on the exam. Additionally, Veritas offers a ton of timed practice exams that closely replicated the structure and difficulty of the questions that were actually on the test.

Veritas Prep...worth the time!
by kewlerdanu ,Nov 25 '09
Pros: The Instructor was AMAZING!
The material is very well divided into numerous books!
Cons: Very important to keep up with the course and not fall behind!
The course was really helpful, it covered even the basic concepts that I had forgotten from high school. The topics are really well divided up into separate books and the course provides tons and tons of questions to practice from!It makes studying easier, instead of going through a fat thick book for gmat, you have numerous small books with different topics, with related questions, and it makes it easier to study and understand that way. I would totally recommend this course to anyone who wants to score well regardless!

Veritas Prep Online Course Review
by david_gmat_720 ,Nov 09 '09
Pros: My score increased from a 630 to a 720!
Cons: I can't think of any deleterious cons.
The online prep course was amazing. I had shopped Manhattan, Kaplan, and a few other smaller course providers. Stuart and Kevin, our instructors, were excellent and fully prepared for each class.

I had scored a 630 a year prior, and needed to boost my quant score from a 36 to mid-40s in order to have a good chance at being accepted to the top bschools. Last Friday, I scored a 720, nailing a 48 quant. All this for a liberal arts guy too!

I fully recommend Veritas online prep courses to anyone trying to bump their scores, quant or verbal. Their strategies are excellent. Their instructors are very knowledgeable.

Veritas is ahead of the pack
by rwlee33New Member ,Dec 14 '09
Pros: Extensive material, advanced questions, great explanations, thorough lessons and overall great content in books
Cons: Long class, minor errors in books
I highly recommend this course.  I took the Kaplan self-study, and the Kaplan Advanced course and scored below my mark both times.  After the Veritas course I got the score I was looking for in the 700s!  I couldn't have been happier with the results.  The Veritas course goes into much more detail and explains things in a different way that really clicked with me.  The course materials are far more extensive than Kaplan.  There are so many practice problems, and advanced problems, all with very good explanations to help if you don't understand.  Frankie was my instructor and she got right to business, no fluff, but still a lot of fun to be with.  All the instructors score in the 99% percentile and are thoroughly trained.  The Gleacher Center location was also very convenient for me.  All around a great experience.  If you're looking to get into a top-tier business school, this course is worth every penny.

If you read this and want to sign up, let me know, because we can both save/make money if you are referred by someone.  Just send me a message and I'll give you my details.
