I began service with verizon in January of 2005. I received a new audiovox phone with the start of my new service. In March my phone died. I went to the store and was given a refurbished phone which lasted 3 weeks. I went back to Verzion and was then given a third phone.
On Thanksgiving Day 2006 it died.
This is where Verizon is treating their customers unethically. My original phone had a 1 year warranty from the date of purchase. However, the refurbished phones only have a 90 day warranty. So basically, if you buy a brand new phone today and it dies tomorrow, you've just lost 9 months of your warranty.
When I explained this to the tech who I am sure has heard this many times, he said "Your options are to pay $50.00 and get another phone same model. Or your elligable for an upgrade in two months and you can get a different phone, or cancel service and pay $75.00 cancellation fee.
