Pros: better than some others, coverage available throughout most of the city Cons: connection problems, poor call/voice quality, not a good alternative to a land line
First of all, I should preface by saying that wireless service in L.A. is generally pretty spotty, compared to other major cities. I've had terrible coverage with Sprint here, and AT&T became virtually unusable after they merged with Cingular. Verizon ...
Pros: reliable Cons: extra features can get expensive
I got a Verizon plan when I moved to the valley 5 years ago and have kept the same one ever since. I've generally never had a problem with dropped calls except in one very inconvenient place - my entire apartment in Chatsworth. Whenever I would get a ...
Pros: None I can think of! Cons: Do not keep you informed of problems.
Failed promises of offers to help.
It started when I first signed up for service. I was told by a Verizon representative that I could save money by not signing up for the extended warranty service until just before my manufacturers warranty expired, one year. It was a great idea in ...
Pros: I talk to all of my family and friends without using my minutes. Cons: Poor service coverage & expensive
I'd have to say that Verizon is not the best cell service there is. Every time the commercial comes on with that guy saying "Can you hear me now?” I want to scream "NO!! I can't! Cuz I can't get service at my workplace!". It's not just where I ...
Pros: Great Signal. Replaces Cell Phones When Problem Occurs Cons: A bit pricier than other carriers. Phone choice isn't too great.
After years and years with t-mobile, i decided to switch out to Verizon because of it's reputation for great signal and service. With t-mobile, I would have no bars at all when I'm at home. The only reason for sticking with t-mobile was because of a much ...
Pros: Great customer service and easy bill pay. Cons: Have to renew contract to change plan.
I have had Cingular and Sprint, was not pleased. My phone calls always cut out and I could not get reception anywhere. I have had Verizon since 2002 and I would not switch for anything. I have lived in Los Angeles and Nebraska in the last 5 years and my ...
Pros: Wide Service Range Cons: Cannot get a billing plan that actually consistently fit my needs. Costs way too much.
I started my cell service many years ago. My company was eventually bought by Verizon. My bills always ranged between $200-600! I could never get a handle on their billing. Customer service representatives would suggest changes in my plan that were ...
The call quality is very good, I rarely loose calls, and I really have only great things to say about the actual service. My really trouble is with customer service and the billing department. I had the service for over a year, and decided to ...
Pros: Works most of the time Cons: Too many cut out points. I know them by heart
I expect things to work all the time. I do not understand how I can literally have my feet in the pacific ocean north of malibu and get crystal clear connections but by on Los Feliz by the 5 and every time my phone cuts out in the same place. There are so many spots like this, like right on laural canyon before going into hollywood.
Best reception in the area with an asterix by kwsmithphoto ,Apr 21 '08
Pros: Relatively good coverage, especially deep inside buildings where GSM carriers have problems. 3G well established. Cons: No rollover minutes, high data fees.
I've been with Verizon for 8 years and have rarely had any problems. With few exceptions, it works pretty much everywhere. Customer service has been good to very good. Phone choices aren't the best but that's about to change, which brings up the asterix: Since they started to add GSM to their towers I'll start a call with 5 bars only to get a "no service" warning when I hit send. Wait a minute and it comes back, but they're in them midst of reconfiguring their network so expect problems. Same problem on 2 different phones. In any case, overall it's been a good experience, especially when someone with Sprint or AT&T/Cingular can't get a signal and asks to borrow my phone. That said, AT&T is catching up fast by putting up more microcells to fill in the holes.
Good Coverage Abysmal Customer Service by tlsumner ,Nov 01 '08
Pros: Good Coverage Cons: Poor customer service if THEY have a problem Untrained and/or uninformed customer service people
Good company until they mess up on your bill. Then look out. I had 2 customer service reps admit they screwed up changing my plan and the company refused to correct the bill. That after 45 minutes on the phone with a customer service rep. They promised to have a supervisor call me the next night, which never happened. Be warned.
