Pros: good coverage, good customer service. Cons: some calls went straight to vm, Motorola Q software issues
One of the major problems with any cell service in NY, NJ and CT centers on the roadways and tunnels that folks that live around here have to deal with on a daily basis. Most of the time, you're forced to drop your call before you go over one of the ...
Pros: reliable service, nice and durable phones, great deals Cons: Personally: My Verizon LG phone rings sometimes even when vibrate mode is on
Here in NY, Verizon stays true to their slogan, "Can you hear me now?" I have many friends that use Sprint and/or Cingular and I have found that my service is the most reliable and widespread. There is another plus to this mobile phone service. Verizon ...
Pros: cannot find any pros with their service quality Cons: poor customer service, bad attitude.
I had verizon mobile at the end of December, and returned them within 15 days. (They have 15 days worry-free guarantee). By the time I was returning phone, I've been told that what I have to pay is minutes which I've used. No cancellation fee and no ...
Pros: Service is unmatched. I get service everywhere. Cons: The customer service is horrible, not enough customer service reps.
About a year ago I made switch from T-Mobile to Verizon and have enjoyed it very much. T-Mobile is notorious for running into dead zones, whereas Verizon never seems to have that problem, especially in NYC and Westchester County. I recently lost my ...
Pros: Excellent coverage, strong signals throughout NYC, excellent choice if you rely on your mobile phone. Cons: Phones are WAY behind the competition (No iPhone!), EXPENSIVE plans, Nights start @ 9:00PM
I am very demanding of my mobile-phone service. Like many New Yorkers, I don't even have a land-line or internet phone in my home, so I rely solely on my mobile. Because of this, I need something reliable, and that's why I choose Verizon. If you can ...
Pros: Excelent service (number of bars) from MOST of NY, good reps, great quality of calls Cons: Higher then wanted prices for plans, no reception in my bed room.
Alright I've had my enV from Verizon for about 3 months now. Not too bad of a phone from a decent phone company. Having gone to school in Western NY and my home being down by NYC I've gotten some good travel time on this baby. Even on the infamous ...
Pros: No dropped calls, great reception. Cons: Kind of pricey.
Verizon has never dropped a call of mine! I have the 450 unlimited nights and weekend plan. I also have unlimited texting. I love the phone i got, and the plan is awesome! I always use just enough minutes at the end of my billing period. I always have ...
Great service, bad phones by jonlosche ,Oct 22 '06
Pros: Reliable service, no dropped calls, rarely out of range. Cons: Wimpy phones, extra $ for ring tones, text messages.
Best service in the area, I no longer get dropped calls. Phone selection is poor if you work in construction, have a job that requires you to work in harsh environments, or you like to be out in the world where you might drop the phone. Nextel has phones designed for contractors and I don't understand why Verizon hasn't tapped into this market.
not the best, but not much choice... by jldude ,Dec 22 '06
Pros: many local stores, customer service, free incalling Cons: inferior service, no rollover minutes, no plan to fit my calling habits
Verizon is ok for most poeple, however I live in rural arizona and coverage here is very spotty, excellent in some areas, non existant in others. I'm very used to it here. But what I do hate most about verizon is that they do not offer rollover minutes. Big con for me as I do not live on my phone and NEVER use all the minutes I pay for, rather more dependant on txt msgs. I asked why this is, and was told "why would you want rollover minutes?". Hmmm, can't imagine. This is what the store rep told me of all poeple. A friend of mine used to have Cingular, and they had twice the signal strength as verizon here, unfortuneately they no longer offer service here. The motorolaV276 phone I have is quite inferior. It looks good, but the charger is it's weakness, and a HUGE one. I have been through 3 of them so far they are so cheap and poorly designed.
Pros: nothing that I can thing of--big mistake Cons: everything--customer service, crappy phones, no response, overcharges, etc..
I switched to Verizon Wireless from T-Mobile because I was told the signal would be better in my Queens high-rise apartment.
Big mistake. The signal is approximately the same, but while I got free phones that were good at T-Mobile, I paid $29 for a phone that's a piece of junk here. I can't hear it when it rings, even though it's set on "loud". I also put it on vibrate but it has to be next to my body to hear that. I ended up investing another $20 in a belt-clip when the store refused to upgrade my phone without significant extra charges. I thought the belt-clip would help me feel the "vibrate"--it's just a little better.
My bill was also way higher than it should be with tons of surcharges--they did credit with me those, but I shouldn't have had to make a special trip.
I e-mailed Verizon about my problems, they didn't even answer. Terrible company--DON'T.
Verizon Wireless Phone Service by snowy777 ,Aug 27 '06
Pros: Excellent cell phone coverage Cons: Very hard to get a replacement phone if you do not have insurance.
My experience with Verizon Wireless has been a positive one one the whole. They offer very good plans with the most minutes for off peak usage. What you see is what you get,no read the small print. What I like is their willingness to please the customer. What I do not like is when they cannot identify the problem a phone may be having due to a defect, they always give water damage as the excuse putting the customer in a position to have to pay for a new phone if they do not have insurance. The insurance is just another way to make money.
All cell phones have water damage from usage due to condensation.
Great reception, poor service by jennilevyesq ,Feb 19 '07
Pros: Great coverage. Cons: The choice of phones is terrible! Customer service is horrible.
After using AT&T for years, I was forced to look around when they went under. I was also looking for a service that I'd be able to use on a 19th floor apartment in Manhattan and also on my way down to the subway in midtown. I was happy to get verizon, even though it costed more, because I heard such great things. My only huge complaint is the customer service. I have been overcharged twice, received terrible help when my phones break, and feel like I am not being listen to when I report an issue in coverage or phone problems. The service is self is fine, but the products they sell to use the service (the cell phones) don't work well. The people at the stores don't want to help you and they aren't nice helping.
Verizon Customer Service by spinnaker121 ,Apr 01 '08
Pros: Good reception and coverage. Cons: Dreadful customer service.
Go into a Verizon store and stand near the desk where they offer tech support. To nearly every customer with a phone problem, you'll hear them say "This phone got wet", "You must have dropped the phone", or "The display is cracked because you pressed on in too hard."
Phones fail, especially the refurbished (used) ones they give you when your new one breaks. But to Verizon, it's always the customer's fault.
I won't ever get a two-year contract when the phone has a one-year warranty.
Pros: Less dropped calls that AT&T Cons: Poor service at my new home, Expensive and contracts stink.
Through my personal experience Verizon is better than AT&T as far as dropped calls are concerned. Though in my new home, my service is very poor, but I compensate with a land line there.
Overall though Verizon doesn't drop half as many calls at AT&T did.
Bottom Line: Poor service at my new home, but not so bad everywhere else as was AT&T. As with all services...too expensive and contracts stink.
