Pros: Seems to work very well Cons: Difficult flavor to deal with
Hubby swears by Vicks Nyquil Liquid . We have Dayquil and Nyquil in assorted flavors. It's the first thing he'll grab if he's sick. He's a huge guy and never has an adverse reaction to it. Hubby loves alcohol (wine, beer, Vodka etc)so the taste doesn't ...
Pros: get a good night's sleep and relief from the common cold Cons: can make you *really* tired - only take when you are not going out anywhere

A midnight rendezvous you say? I had a feeling that might reel you in. Of course, if I said something along the lines of "One Dose=No Booty Call" it might have reeled you in faster. (Insert evil laughter here) Hey, sex sells, although I'm sure you're...
Pros: It works for me. Cons: Has got to be the strong taste.
This has got to be some of the worst tasting stuff that I have ever tasted. It is so strong that it almost burns my throat going down. Yet, when I have one of those terrible coughs due to colds, you will not find anything else on my shelf. It really...

Pros: Induces sleep, helps you rest! Cons: Taste and price and groggy feeling in the morning

Pros: fast relief, multi-symptom Cons: dreadful taste
For about 2 years, I have been using Vicks NyQuil multi-sympton cold and flu liquid medicine in original flavor. This is the only brand I trust to guarantee me a good night’s sleep. With minimal complaints from me, I’d say this medicine has given me that ...
Let me preface this review with this statement: I have a problem with us reviewing medicines. It is all well and good to state our own experiences with the medicines in question, but none of us, with the exceptions of Registered Nurses, and Medical...

Pros: Helps many cold and flu symptoms Cons: Tastes terrible!

Pros: Lets you sleep Cons: makes you brain dead at times.
I am in day 2 of the dreaded summer cold. I was lucky that I had some Vick’s Nyquil in the medicine cabinet. I have used it in the past and it worked pretty well this time it has not worked as well. It could be a worst bug than in the past. This is a...
Pros: puts grown men to sleep, better than any lullaby Cons: the taste, the instant dependency
My baby has a cold. Ring the church bells and take cover--he's got a bad cold and you know how men are. They're not miserable. They're dying. They go off to work every day and function like reasonable adults, but bring 'em home with a cold and...
Pros: none Cons: keeps me awake, too much money, didn't help any of my symptoms, and tastes awful

Pros: Really works Cons: Most horrible taste you can imagine
NyQuil is a potent cough, cold, flu, pain relieving brew that really works. I've often wondered though if part of its effectiveness is a result of its downright vile flavor. The stuff tastes so bad, you forget how terrible the rest of you feels....
Pros: good for multiple symptoms, works well, great for insomnia Cons: bad taste
I purchased this product as my Hubby and I had the colds from hell. We both had to go to work and needed some good rest. So off I went to the store and saw Nyquil. All I could think of was the commercial when I saw it so I figured I would give it a...

Pros: Best to take it close to where you plan to sleep. Cons: Doesn't taste very good.
There was a comedian who called Nyquil "The night-time, sniffling, sneezing, coughing, stuffy head, fever, what-the-hell-am-I-doing-on-the-kitchen-floor medicine." In truth, I would probably be pretty close to asleep before I finished the...
Pros: It solves your flew troubles while you sleep Cons: It doesn't allow you to wake up if your life is in danager
They say you shouldn't take medicine unless you are ill, but it never accorded to me, that taking NyQuil, to "help me get my Zzzzzz's" would place me face to face with the possibility of death by firing squad.
I have used Nyquil many times, and realize that it is not the best for some people. I do not know if it has some aspirin type medication in it that makes a sick stomach sicker. What I do know though is to never buy it in the green color. The green...

Pros: Fast, Effective and Reliable Cons: 200 Proof more or less!
Seems when I was a kid the best my Mom could do was fill me with chicken soup, feed me saltine crackers when I was coughing and engulf me with mist from a vaporizor. Then Vicks invented NyQuil!
Pros: Knocks you out most of the time Cons: The Taste, the next morning

Pros: Ensures sound sleep when you're feeling yucky. Cons: C'mon, don't you know by now?
I love NyQuil. I keep some in the house at all times. When one of the adults in the house is feeling yucky, this is what we turn to, time and again, to help us actually sleep through the night (or even if we're bedridden by day). Yes, I know it...
Pros: none Cons: Doesn't work! Keeps me wired ALL night
I've tried various OTC cold remedies and few of them live up to their billing. They either don't work for me at all or else they have unpleasant side effects, like causing my mouth to dry out or making me feel all spacy. Vicks NyQuil Liquid falls into...
Pros: well it DOES work eventually Cons: side effects are a trip.. LITERALLY

In my opinion, the worst part about having a cold is being up all night coughing and sneezing. No matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to get any amount of sleep. This makes the next day worse because not only are you sick, you are tired as...
Pros: eases symptoms, helps you rest Cons: the taste

New Formula does not work at all by jimbar99 ,Dec 27 '06
Pros: The new ineffective formula doesn't taste as bad as the original. Cons: Does not achieve the desired effect so is worthless.
The new formula that does not contain pseudoephedrine absolutely does not work. Don't buy it. I bought some because my head was stuffed up and went to bed thinking I would be able to breathe and sleep, but I was wrong. After a night of tossing and turning and mouth-breathing with little if any sleep, I got up and looked at the bottle only to find that Vicks had changed the formula to remove the sudafed so they can still sell it on the shelf without involving the pharmacist. That prevents the meth lab people from buying it but also means the end for NyQuil as far as I am concerned.
nyquil-not what it used to be by perry9696 ,Feb 12 '07
Pros: Nyquil does offer multiple ingredients for the common cold. Cons: It no longer helps to relieve all of the symptoms.
I used to use Nyquil for any of the advertised ailments-i.e. aches, fever, etc. but mostly for the "stuffy nose" problem. Now that drug users have forced Vick's and other companies to remove the one ingredient that relieved the stuffy nose symptom (pseudoephedrine) the once "all you need medicine" is no longer the same. If this is the relief that you are searching for, Nyquil is not the answer.
NyQuil - When you need to stay up all night! by blatherton ,Feb 03 '05
Pros: Taste isn't all that bad, helped my cold symptoms for a bit Cons: Kept me wide awake nearly the whole night long
So, I hear that NyQuil is supposed to be a wonder drug that will knock you out for the whole night when you have a cold. Not quite! It kept me wired all night long. I did go to sleep for about 40 minutes after I took it, but then once the drugs started to kick in, I woke up wired and my heart was pounding. I was wide awake and couldn't get back to sleep until 3AM.
I am writing this now the morning after and I am still miserable from my cold and suffering from only getting 3 hours of off and on sleep last night.
