I probably haven't eaten one (except at brunch) since my mom made them 30 years ago, but have often looked at waffle griddles while shopping.  I read up on reviews on Epinions and chose this one based on the comments and ratings.  I haven't been disappointed at all.  This appliance is exactly as promised....easy to use and a consistent cooking experience!
