Pros: Sleek, stylish, very good sound clarity, color screen makes it very vibrant. Customization is great. Cons: You have to customize each phone individually, a little pricey
I purchased this base unit and a couple extra handsets for my home after losing faith in the 2.4 panasonic phones that kept dying on me. On first impression, the phone's looked very sleek and very ergonomic. Just to make sure I didn't screw up again, ...
Pros: Cosmetically beautiful. Very small footprint. Cons: Poor connection and audio quality--static. Poor battery life.
After reading reviews, I was all set to buy a Panasonic 5.8 GHz phone, that is, until this baby caught my eye. Wow--what a sharp looking phone! Its sleek, Star Trek-like design is beautifully engineered, offering a very small footprint on a desk or ...
Pros: personal ringtones, pictures for callers, huge caller id list, full color lcd screen Cons: This phone fails to provide the basic functions of of a phone
The Vtech i5871 is by far the worst phone I've purchased in my life. I made the mistake of being sucked in by all the bells a whistles, like assigning pictures to phone numbers, personal ringtones, etc. I've purchased Vtech before and havent had any ...
Pros: Solid Construction
Sleek Design
USB link to build phonebook on computer
Good sound/reception Cons: Nothing major...
Outlook integration lacking
Phones don't exchange contacts or call log changes
This Vtech phone is great. I have the phone with the base/answerer and an additional phone. Very sleek design, well made, solid feel. The user interface is clear, easy to use and navigate, and quick to get around. Sound quality and reception is also ...
Pros: looks ok I guess.
Cons: Totally sucks period.
I bought this accessory handset in April 2007 for $75. BTW I never use this handset it just sits there. The battery doesn't hold a charge anymore. Probably been a problem a few months ago, but I don't know, like I said I never use it. The charger is ...
Pros: Tons of features, ergonomica, stylish Cons: unreliable
I purchased this phone with an extra handset and had problems from the get go. The phone would not communicate with the base. I took it back where I bought it, replaced it for another, and 2 months later more problems. The phone simply won't allow me to dial out or receive calls now. It will do that, then start working again. It's completely unreliable.
Pros: looks great. Cons: It does not stay connected to the base and constantly loses calls.
We bought the phone over a year ago and it's a piece of junk. After spending a long time installing all the "cool stuff" like assigning pictures to phone numbers, personal ringtones, etc. we found it would do none of those things. Calling tech support did not help either but we returned it to Best Buy because it would not hold a charge. They replaced it with another which worked ok other than the caller id never worked and once in a while we'd lose a connection in mid-sentence (while in the same room as the base).
Immediately after the warranty was up however, the handset would lose the connection to the base constantly and we'd lose the call. I cannot recommend this phone to anyone.
Worth maybe $20...not $200 by grimmond ,Dec 27 '06
Pros: Lots of bells and whistles.
Can listen to messages from handset.
Cons: Broke Fast. Problem ridden.
Constantly had to cycle the power because the headset couldn't find the base. Lost a lot of calls: phone would ring, I'd pick up the handset, phone stops ringing as if I picked it up, but the handset can't talk to the base station. This happened frequently. Now, eight months later, it just stopped working. I've purchased two VTech phones within the last 2 years. Neither of them lasted more than a year
Pros: nice design and customization Cons: horrible support, not reliable
I bought this phone for the sleek design and features. Unfortunately it does not have the reliability of a phone half it's price. If you call to resolve the problem you will encounter such terrible support you will think of a Dilbert cartoon (I was told to go to a neighbors house and see if the v-tech phone worked there before asking to talk with someone else)
Even within the 1 year warranty they will not fix their phones
Bottom line - buy another phone and admire this at someone else's house
Pros: look great - sleek and cool, comfortable to talk with Cons: Expensive, very short life. The worst customer service ever.
It worked well for a short period of time and then it kept saying "cannot connect" "searching for base" "can't find base" sometimes while I was sitting right next to the base. It dropped calls over and over and when a call waiting would come in -- as soon as you heard that call waiting beep the current call would get dropped. Vtech customer service was horrible (this is the first Vtech product I've owned and will never buy another one). They strung me along and I followed all their instructions - having to call them back 4 times...and being on hold forever and getting someone who you could barely understand and who could not understand the problem. The last call the person seemed to understand and asked some relevant questions, consulted with someone else and came back and simply said your phone is gone... It's not longer any good. These phones are expensive so I was shocked at their nonchalance.
Vtech i5871 Cordless Phone by mrcharisma ,Jun 06 '07
Pros: -great look
-easy to use
-visually stunning
-great audio
-clear and clean Cons: -hard to find in stores.
First, I want to start by saying how great this site is. I was able to find the phone I wanted off of shopping.com. I saw the Vtech i5871 a little while ago and fell in love with it. Its user-friendly, has a sleek look, and very "trendy" looking. Just by having this phone my friends think I am up on technology. Anyway, I am a stickler for good audio/video, and this phone is very clear and clean. They also provide an extra battery which is good.
Pros: great looks, very good sound quality Cons: none, so far except price
this phone is very expensive, but seems well worth it. Not your usual plastic junk, most things are made of these days. feels solid. looks awesome. there is either real metal on it, or an excellent fascimile. clear sound. easy to use and set up. i recomend w/o reservation.
Great phone and features but one glaring problem... by jayvee2473 ,Dec 13 '06
Pros: Design, easy use and setup, unbelievable features Cons: No caller ID with Voice over internet protocol phone service.
I got a great deal on this phone at Circuit City. My fiance thinks it's the coolest thing ever because it looks great and works like a mobile phone.
Design-breathtaking.
Ease of use-brilliant.
Uploading pictures and sounds to the phone-awesome.
Caller ID not working with Vonage VOIP-what?
Yes, I've now read that other VOIP users don't have working caller ID as well, which is upsetting, because what good is all the new technology and features without good old low-tech caller ID?
Check the system for full functionality before you commit to this phone.
Pros: Fast Battery Charge
Spare Battery storage Cons: Recorded songs sometimes have scratchy feedback
This phone has everything you can imagine and more, with a beautiful high resolution LCD screen. The I5871 phone comes standard with 29 images and animated graphics which you can add more and assign as wallpaper to a contact in your phone directory. The I5871 phone also comes with provided software and USB cord to do those following functions. The phone also includes a personalized ringer option by using the headset cord and recording directly from your PC or stereo equipment. The look of the phone is a stylish silver, black, and orange lighting. This phone is very simple to operate and function with clear directions getting around your office or home using it is a breeze.
Pros: looks nice Cons: Since both phones stopped working, chances are that it was not just a bad phone.
We bought the answering machine/w phone and an extra phone about a year ago. Today both phones are dead. Within 6 months of purchase the phones kept losing contact with the base (when standing 3 feet from the base) and then at about 10 months they stopped working.
