Pros: Inexpensive, and faster than a roller and brush Cons: Very bad coverage, messy, noisy, time consuming (unsuccessful) cleanup.
My dad has one. I went over to borrow it, got it home, read the directions, spent a half hour trying to get paint to flow through it to no avail. I figured maybe dad didn't clean it right or something. So I looked them up, saw that they didn't cost too ...
Pros: There are no pros...... Cons: Paint in nose, noisy, messy, does not work, cleaning time, waste of time.
I purchased this sprayer thinking, I only had a small room to do, I didnt need anything that serious. I've used larger industrial paint sprayers from a rental store before in another home, and had great results. We have all seen the ...
Pros: User friendly, VERY fast, Easy one handed operation, good coverage, easy cleanup Cons: NOISEY!!!!!, detailed cleaning, lots of overspray yet easily controlled
The painter is a VERY good investment. I had yet another room in my home to paint (been renovating over 2000 square foot for a year now) I decided to bite the bullet, and buy a Wagner after I realized I would have to paint the ceiling and walls in the ...
Pros: Three spray patterns.
Very even distribution.
Good instructions.
Fast and simple. Cons: Must make sure you mix the paint properly.
Messy cleanup.
Purchased at Home Depot for $69.00. I had a set of cast iron patio furniture to paint. I did not want to go through the hassle of buying umpteen million cans of spray paint because I had 6 chairs, large table and glider to do. Thought I would give ...
Pros: if it works it saves time Cons: noisy, leaky, inconsistent, hose falls out, takes to many people, very frustrating
Bought this to save time painting. First use leaked about as much as it sprayed. Tried again by thinning paint slightly-worked fairly well; spit some. Was usable. Third time same procedure as second time. The thing spit, spattered and leaked so badly we ...
Pros: Quick shingle painting, not need to thin out paint Cons: my arms are sore!
After reading alot of reviews I was a bit nervous about trying this. I have a raised ranch with alot of shingles I wanted to paint 2 coats, so I bought the 3 speed wagner powersprayer at Home Depot for 100.00. I feel that those who had bad experiences ...
We all know the commercials. You know, the ones where the guy is spraying his house and his fence and other stuff. There has never been a bigger case of false advertising.
I purchased this unit expecting it to take the hassle out of painting....
Pros: Fast, easy to setup Cons: Loud, Spatter, cleanup
Bought for 100, sold for 30 online the next week.
Numerous problems would be forgivable if it did what I bought it for, painted better than a roller.
Fast? yes, but only without needing to go over everything with a roller afterwords if you don't want paint spats every 5 seconds.
(other would-be forgivable problems include; too short cord, requires extension cord, making cleanup even more of a hassle, cleanup takes forever compared to paint time, (Unless you have a hose, and therefore not winter) noisy, messy, and spatter requires full room masking.
Pros: When it worked, it was handy. Cons: Piston breaks when you use the gun.
Used it one time and half way through the small job (20min) it would not work. Took apart to clean and the magnet (piston) was broken into several chunks. I called Wagner and was told that I need to release the trigger at the end of each pass or the piston will break!
I new piston is $22.50 (whole usit was $70 at Home Depot). I complained and was told they would send me a free piston as a one time offer but I needed to understand that I broke the piston.
I returned the sprayer to the store for full credit and the store is doing a RTV (return to vender)!
Wagner Power Sprayer Piece of Cr*p. by sslayton01 ,Nov 18 '08
Pros: Few of them. Cons: Siezed piston. Spits paint.
I bought the high-end, 2500 psi version for $100-plus. The piston siezed relentlessly, even with thinned paint. The thing spits and sputters when not siezing. Unfortunately, I threw the box away and can't return it. DO NOT BUY THIS SPRAYER.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME!!! by rtidwell ,Jun 28 '08
Pros: I still have the reciept, so I'm not stuck with it. Cons: Blotches of paint, impossible cleanup, LOUD, Doesn't work.
I bought a Wide Shot Power Sprayer 2400 at HD to paint my house. I will not work. It sends globs of paint, is noisy, is impossible to cleanup (especially if you try the suction tubing), and, did I mention, it doesn't work?
I even went back to HD after reading other reviews and bought some latex paint conditioner hoping that would help it work...no luck.
IF you get it to work, you'll spend more time cleaning it up than using it.
Pros: It'll make a job go quicker if everything works exactly right. Cons: Warranty: limited. Customer service: unsympathetic. Replacement parts: expensive. Hassle factor: huge.
I bought a Power Painter at Ace Hardware for $64.99 because I have bad shoulders and couldn't paint my fence with a brush or roller. I was prepared for lots of assembly, disassembly, cleaning and thinning. I followed the directions exactly, lubricated the mechanism first, tested the spray pattern, thinned the paint, stopped if it clogged. After twenty minutes and 10 feet of fence, the piston broke into 3 pieces and guess what? It is not covered under warranty, because of "normal wear and tear". After 20 minutes? Customer service was less than helpful, saying I must have "dropped the piston or done something else wrong."
A new piston costs around 16 bucks, and if I have to replace it every time I use the sprayer, it'll be cheaper and easier to hire a kid from the neighborhood to paint the fence.
Pros: Claims some good features Cons: Noisy, overpriced, and unreliable.
What a complete piece of junk! I bought one at Home Depot to paint the exterior of my house. I followed the instructions to the letter, but nonetheless the unit spit globs of paint, kept losing its prime, and after a total of around six hours of use, the piston seized completely. I exchanged it for another, assuming the first to be defective. The replacement was even worse, it began spitting after less than a minute of use, and after around five minutes it could no longer suck *thinned* paint from the backpack unit! I wasted more than a full day dealing with this problem; in retrospect a roller would have been faster and given a more even coating! My recommendation: DO NOT BUY A WAGNER SPRAYER!
Pros: Covers large areas quickly Cons: Hard to determine the thinning ratio.
Its not as bad as people let on. Once you figure out how to thin your paint brand (all of them differ apparently), its a breeze. I sprayed Behr exterior flat latex through mine, and I followed Behr's directions on the can. Basically I had to double the amount of water Behr recommended to get it to flow through the Wagner without spattering.
Breakdown and clean up are very easy. That seems to be a common complaint with all Wagner spray gun users. Listen - anyone who gets frustrated breaking down and cleaning a tool as complex as an airgun (with only 8-10 parts that need cleaning) probably should avoid home improvement in the first place.
Pros: The paint cup is great for watering house plants. Cons: Cheaply made, falsely advertised, cloggs easy.
This is the absolute worst product that I have ever used. I had one room to paint, according to the advertisement - it cuts the time in half. I read the instructions loaded the paint and nothing but a loud noise. Re-read the insturctions, took it apart, cleaned it, and finally it sputters paint. I could have spit more paint on the wall. I cleaned it up and returned it to the store for a refund. I ended up loosing 2 days of work trying to get this to work. I ended up rolling the room. What ever you do, do not buy this product!! Matter-of-fact run when you see a wagner disply.
