Water Pic Professional Oral Irrigator WP-72W
Water pic is the oldest oral irrigation device company on the market. As a Dental Hygienist I recommend Oral Irrigators to most of my adult patients cause I have found them to significantly...
Pros: Extremely effective tool for cleaning teeth, gums, and tongue. Cons: Some of the minor extra features are not that useful.
I have owned the WP-72 for 5 weeks and recommend it highly. Even though my gums are very healthy (they never bleed during a dental cleaning), since I am over 50, my gums are slowly receding, and as a result I have some pretty deep pockets at the gum ...
Pros: Comes with large and small cleaning solution reservoirs, 4 specialized tips
Cons: see review
This is my first oral irrigation system, my hygienist advised me to get one after my last checkup. I found this one at Walgreens for $47 with an additional $7 rebate, which ended up making it cost the same as the basic system. I used it with plain tap...
Pros: Very Powerful, Comes With Large 35 oz. Solution Container, Small Size, Sturdy and Comfortable Handle Cons: Fairly Loud, Pik Pocket Tip Pressure Much Weaker Than Regular Tip
The WP-72W is my second oral irrigator. The unit comes with 2 regular tips, 1 sub-gingival Pik Pocket tip, 1 tongue cleaner tip, 1 small solution container and 1 very large solution container. Even with the large container in place, the unit is still...
Pros: Gets debris out from between the teeth, and leaves your mouth refreshed. While it works. Cons: The quality of Teledyne/Waterpik products has deteriorated to junk status.
I bought this Waterpik because I was having some orthodontic work done, and getting food caught in between my teeth. The Waterpik I remembered from its early days (the 1960s) was great at reaching things a brush couldn't, and I found it easier and ...
Works well but major drawbacks by dalerutschow ,Mar 01 '05
Pros: Works very well, nice large tank. Cons: Noise, handle, siphons water, springy, short hose.
First, it does it job well. I have a Motor Neuron disease and my tongue can't get around very well so I have to use this. The negatives could be fixed fairly easily making this a fantastic product.
1. The noise!
2. For me with limited hand movement the handle is too small and the pause button is very difficult for me to push and hold. I have washed my face several times.
3. What is up with this short springy hose, would another foot just jack the price too much?
4. Make a seal that won't let it siphon out the water.
The last two could be fixed with almost no change and little cost, come on you can do it! I have to use something like this and while I recommend it, it's with lots of reservations.
This things fail after about 4 months every time! by brhill11 ,Apr 29 '07
Pros: Work great for a about 2-3 months Cons: They stop working after a few months
I have purchased 5 water piks in the past 2 years. Some lasted 3 months, some lasted 4. I changed models and bought more expensive ones and the same thing happened. I do not recommend Water Pik irrigators of any kind.
They are noisy, but worst of all they stop working after daily use in a very short time.
