Pros: Easy to use. Lots of exercises. Half the price (or less!) of a Bowflex. Cons: Heavy. Somewhat limited range of motion. Friction in the cables.
Summary: There've been a lot of reviews of the Crossbow, and for good reason. This multi-function tension based exerciser is a great alternative to the more widely known and much more expensive Bowflex. Recently (late 2007) I've seen a Crossbow on sale ... read more

Summary: Yes, I got the PLUS system, as the Weider Crossbow Platinum system was not available from Weider any more. I got my system from SportsmansGuide.com (http://www.sportsmansguide.co

Pros: Plenty of resistance, large variety of exercises, much safer to use, Cons: really big, really heavy, starting weight to high (for me)
Summary: We bought this machine about 5 months ago. We love it. I wanted it for the squat tower which really supports your back and is MUCH safer than straddling the bench and trying to keep your balance on other home gyms. We girls all know the only way to tight ... read more

Pros: Got to meet a very nice service guy Cons: Extremely poor quality mechancial componets. I would look at the weider max instead.
Summary: GotPurchased through Costco.ca Online in Canada. If this gym would actually work, I think it would be a great set up. All the components are of good quality and well designed, but the guts of the unit ( the motor, gearbox and weight adjusting gear) are ... read more

Pros: None! Cons: Decent workout when it felt like working.
Summary: After breaking my ankle last year playing basketball, I needed something for exercise that wouldn’t stress my leg. I decided strength training would be good. Bowflex really appealed to me, but with two children and their friends running around the area ... read more

Pros: Wide variety of exercises with fine resistance control Cons: Squat machine doesn't feel comfortable

Pros: Easy/quick to use, guided computer helps keep you motivated. Cons: Very heavy shipping box, Poor customer service,90 day warranty, very uncomfortable leg press
Summary: The Weider Platinum is a great system and I like its design and ease of use, but it failed so many times that I've given up on it. I had it 7 months and have had it broken 4. It started as a single 300 lbs. box that arrived on my driveway. It was ... read more

Pros: For the price, you can't do much better. Great workout for women, decent for men. Cons: Men likely will want weight upgrade which is expensive.

Pros: A nice idea of replacing weights and bows with a single resistance bar. Cons: Poor reliability, non-existent customer service, fraudulent practice of misleading customers.
Summary: I purchased Crossbow Platinum on Jan 31, 2005. It didn't last long - less than a month later it broke down: the resistance could not be adjusted and stayed at the highest level. I called customer service expecting that the problem would be easy to fix. ... read more

Pros: Easy to adjust resistance(when it's working). Good range of movement. Cheaper than the Bowflex. Cons: Resistance is not smooth, or liniar. Big. Poor customer service, and you'll need it.
Summary: I've owned a bowflex for nearly 10 years. I thought I'd give the Crossbow Platinum a try when we moved into a new house. After using the Crossbow for 6 months, I must say I prefer the Bowflex. The Bowflex has significantly smoother motion and ... read more
