Pros: Welcome to the Black Parade is by far MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE's best song Cons: Will they keep the pace after this conceptual album?
New Jersey's MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE was responsible for a huge Emo hit back in 2005, with an unmistakable videoclip, which was coffin's aerobic pseudo-gothic Helena. They joined MTV ranks as a lighthearted, funnier, twisted version of ...

Black Parade Marches ON
by butterfly10954 ,Mar 03 '07
Pros: Powerful, Loud, Vocals, Concept Cons: none
I was given this cd by a friend to burn for someone else, and while I love the song "Welcome to the Black Parade", I had no idea that this cd would quickly become my new favorite.
Being originally from NJ I have some affection for this band to start with. However, I had seen them previously as a pseudo-punk teenage angst goth type of thing that was clearly targeted at those much younger than I. But from the first listen, I changed my mind very quickly.
These guys are talented. This a concept cd about a cancer victim's death, and (possibly) life thereafter. It is dark without being mellow, in fact it's music made to play loud, so powerful in its lyrics and sound. This is not to say that it is without upbeat tempo; Songs like "Mama" and "Teenagers" rock as do the other songs. This album reminds me of a cross between Queen and The Violent Femmes.
I truly believe this will be a classic!
