Pros: Seriously amazing picture quality, unbelievable value. Cons: Mediocre speakers, backlight stays on in sleep mode.
I wasn't actually in the market for a TV when I bought this one, but I saw a deal ($429 for a 32" LCD!!!) that I couldn't pass up. I thought that I'd just be getting an ok TV, because of the price and the brand, but I was pleasantly surprised... ...
Pros: Works great, flat, great price, good picture. Cons: None.
It's typical for me to wait several months or even years for new technology to reduce in price before I'll buy it. When flat-screen TV's first came out, we'd hear stories of them being 25 thousand dollars, then 5 thousand and then twentyfive hundred and ...
I have complained to my husband for months about 10 year old our boxy behemoth TV. My husband, the man who has yet to accept cell phones, tells me to just wait until they come down in price. What he meant of course is "Wait, and you will forget about it ...
Pros: Nice overall picture, Nice selection of inputs, Decently priced. Cons: poorly developed software? Crappy speakers, May want to purchase an extended warranty.
I purchased this TV new and have owned it for about 3 months now. Let's start off with the good. It has a lot of inputs that are desirable. Like connecting my Laptop directly to it with a VGA cable. Which provides a nice clear picture. And can handle ...
Pros: Good picture quality
Lots of connection options
Low price Cons: Somewhat confusing menu options
Oversize should not be required to view widescreen
This television was bought to replace an ~20 year old, tube television that had a personality disorder. Needless to say, we don't place much emphasis on our television experience. Otherwise, we would have purchased a larger screen a long time ago. We ...
Pros: Great value, picture, sound, and options from a reliable company. Cons: Some break in picture quality when picture is viewed in "overscan" mode.
Where to start?? Picked this up for my wife as a Mother's Day gift. It weighs around 30 lbs, has great picture quality(much better with an HD connection), numerous features, and was priced far less than it's competitors. After moving my old "tubed" ...
Pros: Terrific anti-glare screen with beautiful picture. Cons: Sound is terrible, eventually goes out and so do tv.
White Westinghouse used to be a great quality American company. Now, Westinghouse is overseas, and runs a cookie cutter, quick build operation, in my personal opinion and that of every repairman I have spoken with. About a year after my husband ...
Pros: Easy setup, nice remote, perfect picture quality. Cons: On screen menus a little small if viewing from a distance
Overall, its a great HDTV set. The picture quality is excellent with no ghosting or blurring of the image. Plus the standard TV speakers are very good and can out put a lot of sound.
HORRIBLE! Avoid Westinghouse! by jensun ,Jun 27 '07
Pros: Nice picture, when the TV works - which is rarely! Cons: Fails in less than 1.5 years, parts are impossible to acquire.
We bought this television less than 15 months ago for $1,100 - immediately we started having problems with the television refusing to turn off and conversely, refusing to turn on. Last month, the unit just quit altogether. We have now struggled for six weeks trying to get the television fixed (we'd even purchased a service plan with the product!) - nobody, including local service shops, Best Buy (where we bought the TV), or other electronics dealers can fix this television - they are now telling us it will be a minimum of three more weeks until they can obtain back-ordered parts. If I had to do all over again, I would just buy a Sony!! Do not buy a Westinghouse!
Pros: Lots of inputs, is still semi-functional a whole 15 months after purchase. Cons: Discolored static, framerate drops (bad for gaming), customer service.
Like a lot of people I’ve been reading about, I started having problems with my Westinghouse LCD television only a few months after purchasing it. Unfortunately, my problems are sporadic and, not noticing them when viewing cable television, I assumed that this problem was caused by the other input source I used on it (a video game console). I had that unit serviced twice, and by the time I realized that the problem was with the television and not the input source, the unit was out of warranty by about 3 months. Despite having documentation to show that my problems began only a few months after buying their product, their customer disservice department basically told me I was out of luck. I guess it was crazy of me to expect a $600 television to work properly for a whole year and a half. Thanks for nothing, Westinghouse! Next time, I’ll go with Toshiba or Samsung, and I would encourage anyone else to do the same.
Westinghouse terrible customer service by floridagal77 ,Dec 17 '08
Pros: Good picture. Easy to use. Price was reasonable. Cons: Terrible warrenty customer service.
The TV is great (nice picture, OK sound) as long as it works. When ours needed warrenty repair after 4 months, the runaround started. Now, 9 phone calls later we still can't get anything done. Horrible, horrible warrenty service. I will never buy another Westinghouse product.
PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY by look4u2b1 ,Feb 02 '09
Pros: The price was reasonable, purchased through Home Shopping Network. Great picture when it worked. Cons: Poor craftsmanship. Customer services appears to be unorganized.
My TV went out after a 1 1/2 years. First started making humming noise whenever it was on which was annoying late at night when you want the volume down low, then, it would not scan channels, then the v-hold when on the fritz (obviously a common problem I've found via the Internet). I contacted WH and they stated even though it was out of warranty, I had some additional warranty through HSN where I purchased the TV and they would replace it. I was told I would have a shipping code within 24 hours but received it approximately 7 days later after calling three times.
So I've paid $50.00 to have it shipped back and I'm currently waiting on the replacement.
I will not purchase a Westinghouse TV again. I have an old 19" tube television I purchased in 1999 and that thing is still going, in fact that's what were watching now waiting on the 32 inch. Makes me think this need for HD/LCD was a big fraud by the manufacturers or something, these TV's don't last half as long as the old analog sets. But that's just my opinion based on my WH experience.
