Pros: Cleans better than many; very quiet; great features, capacity, & looks; good repair record Cons: Cookware sometimes not cleaned, imperfect rack design, short warranty; needs extra rinse?
I bought this dishwasher in Feb. to replace an 11-year-old Maytag that had begun to leak a little. The Maytag was built when appliances were allowed to use enough water to really clean well, so maybe that's a factor in performance now. The Maytag would ...

Pros: lots of options, it's quiet, adjustable rack Cons: LONG wash cycles
In November 2006 we had to buy a new dishwasher when the one that came with the house we bought went kaput. We did a lot of research online and opted to go for the GU2700XTS in black (to match the other appliances in our kitchen). We've now had it ...

Pros: Very attractive, lots of settings, flatware tray in front and movable top tray. Cons: flimsy soap holder, soap sometimes doesn't dispense, bottom tray isn't secured by track.

Whirlpool GU2700XTSY ... Lemonade anyone??
by jazzprof2 ,Jul 20 '09
Pros: Looks good ...stainless steel exterior. Adjustable upper tray. Cons: Stains glassware / silverware with residual soap film. Dishes / cups seldom cleaned thoroughly.
My husband and I purchased our WP / DW in June, '08. It has not cleaned dishes thoroughly, glassware & silverware became stained with foggy spots. We've had no less than six service visits since installation and, after the replacement of a rinse dispenser, soap dispenser, heating coil, and power unit (pump motor) the end results have been the same. Whirlpool customer service has been useless and rude, said whirlpool would do nothing about the situation. i've had to soak my glassware & silverware overnight in a distilled white vinegar solution to remove stains. This is a veritable LEMON. The retailer from we purchased this appliance in Placentia, California, washed their hands of any responsibility to us by say ing that Whirlpool would not stand behind their product. Consequently, I would not recommend the retailer or any Whirlpool product to anyone.
