Pros: all pros ;) Cons: none here....
I had really wanted an HE washer and dryer for quite some time, and I finally decided to get it. After much review reading and price researching, we ended up with the Whirlpool Duet Sport Electric Dryer (Model # WED8300SW) along with the washer and ...

Pros: Nice looking. Dried clothes when it worked. Cons: Moisture sensor is not very accurate. Failed in less than 2 years.
We bought our Whirlpool Duet Sport dryer in 2007. In September 2009, the front panel display started showing weird settings that did not correspond to what the control knobs were set at, and the dryer would not start. The applicance repair ...

Pros: Dries evenly and has plenty of options. Cons: Auto-timing seems a bit faulty.
For the most part, I've been extremely impressed with this dryer. I grew up using my parent's old Kenmore dryer, and I had just come to believe that dryers took an hour + to dry a load of clothes. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the base time ...

Good Dryer
by pchancanuck ,Dec 22 '08
Pros: Dries clothes and bedding quicky and effectively. Cons: From time to time a few items roll-up into a ball and doesn't dry.
My old dryer took hours to dry a load. This dryer takes took care of it quickly and did not overly dry out the clothes.
Whirlpool support appears to be outsourced so the quality depends on region and greatly the personal providing the support.

Very nice!
by dadiri ,Apr 01 '09
Pros: Fast, great time display, nice size. Cons: Sheets sometimes get tangled. The door sometimes opens if heavy towels or sheets are inside.
I've owned the matching washer and dryer for 5 months. Both are great. The dryer is very good on time, it only takes about 30 minutes to dry a full load of clothes on the low temperature setting. I love the time display and the fact that it controls when the clothes are dry, and therefore does not waste energy, nor does it "overdry" the clothes. Only issues I have is that if I am drying bed sheets, they sometimes get tangled and therefore don't dry well; also, if I'm drying large towels or sheets I often find the door opens during the run. I presume the load gets thrown against the door, and being heavy, it pushes and opens it. I do love the dryer and highly recommend it!

Great dryer!
by hrodak ,Aug 21 '06
Pros: Compliments the washer, clean, easy to use. Cons: None
I purchased this dryer along with the matching washer (see review) and am very happy with the appliances. Because the clothes come out of the washer relatively dry, this dryer is used much less than my previous one.
The lint trap is large and easy to clean, there are appropriate options for many drying needs so there is never a concern when using this on any of our clothes or linens.
The first couple of times we used the dryer there was a bit of an odor, like something was burning but that is normal for all electric dryers, so don't be alarmed if you think you smell something funny at first. This quickly disappears and by the third use there was no longer any smell other than fresh laundry.
The dryer compliments the washer and as a series I highly recommend it.

I don't recommend
by fenby ,Feb 10 '08
Pros: there are no pros, it dries clothes Cons: auto mode defective Whirlpool unresponsive
I bought this to replace my 25 year old Kenmore Dryer. The auto mode does not work on my unit. It worked for a month then stopped working. It became such a hassle trying to get some help from Whirlpool, I switched to the time mode. I have emailed Whirlpool, tried calling and even resorted to sending a letter all without response.
After spending good money on a dryer it should at least work properly.

Saves Time!!
by smitheight2007 ,Jan 25 '07
Pros: Auto mode fills in when you set it wrong. Drying cut in half. Cons: With auto modes, just another part to go out.
I too purchased this as a matching Duet Sport ht set. Drying time for 10 pair of jeans was 35 minutes. The auto mode is great and really works especially if your husband does the laundry. If more time is needed, it automatically places extra minutes to finish the load. I found this out when the first load of jeans was placed to casual instead of normal. It added time and finished the load.
You can have the dried laundry folded and put away before the washer finishes. A great and efficient way to work.
I would highly recommend this.
