Pros: Gets dishes clean the first time; Good capacity; Separate rinsing agent dispenser; Stainless steel; Quiet Cons: Flatware basket gets things stuck; No digitial readout of time remaining
Dishwashers are becoming more and more commonplace among American households and it has now reached a point where many consider a dishwasher a necessary part of any kitchen. I once considered dishwashers a luxury myself and since I didn't find the chore ...
This dishwasher came preinstalled by the builder in the home I purchased less than 1 year ago. I would not recommend this model. The noise level is acceptable, but the pump starts and stops several times throughout the wash cycle as part of its normal ...
Pros: it's pretty - good thing since it is now merely decoration in my kitchen Cons: cycles take too long, manual lists many excuses for poor cleaning
I recently bought all new appliances at a Whirlpool dealer, and was assured that this was a dishwasher that worked well in our area. Especially important to me was that it was an energy star rated product. I have used it now three times. The manual ...
We purchased this dishwasher to replace a Maytag dishwasher which had a recall due to a fire hazard. The Maytag was almost 10 years so we just decided to replace it. It cleaned well but didn't want to wait for service to come and do the upgrade. This ...
Horrible dishwasher, buyer beware! by harmoni79 ,Mar 07 '08
Pros: cleans well (it should after 2-3 hours) Cons: runs too long, gets stuck in wash mode
malfunctions often
We have had countless problems with this machine. We are in the works of having them come and uninstall it and look for another one. Clean light always flashes which means there's a malfunction. Service people are of no help saying its our water heater, when in fact it's set at maximum. The cycles can go on at least 2 hours even more! It shouldn't take that long. It is a complete lemon and I can't wait to get rid of it after owning it for a month and a half!
We purchased Whirlpool appliances for our new home. The fridge and stove are great, but this particular dishwasher is horrible!! It is so loud that we can't sit at our kitchen table and talk while it's running ,it can be heard over top of our vacuum cleaner, and as for setting the delay to come on during the night, forget it,the fact that it starts and stops many, many times during a cycle keeps us awake for hours. Did I say hours, it takes over 3 hours to do a normal load I cannot imagine how long it will take to do a heavy load. I have contacted Whirlpool, but don't really expect much, so if they won't replace it, then they will be coming out monthly to do service calls until they do, do something.
Pros: Cleans well. Reasonable noise level for the money. Cons: Loading flexibility. Can't figure out how to load cereal bowls in the top rack.
Have only had it for 2 weeks. For the money its a good buy. However if you really want quiet you'll need to spend a couple of hundred dollars more. I spent$348 plus $150 installation.
I have never been impressed with dishwashers until now. by bearcat1100 ,Sep 04 '08
Pros: Clean dishes everytime, no rinsing or scrubbing, quiet Cons: Long cycle, silverware rack hard to get in if not loaded in place
This dishwasher (Whirlpool DU1055XTS) is excellent. I bought this dishwasher based on reviews I found online & because a friend had a similar Whirlpool dishwasher that she was very happy with.
After it was installed I filled it with some nasty, crusty dishes that had been sitting on my counter for about a week. I wanted to test this dishwasher to see how well it cleaned. All the silverware was clean and did not have any stuck on food. I then loaded it with pots & pans that I did not rinse or scrape. All dishes were clean and had no redeposited food anywhere.
My parents bought a Bosch for over $1000 a few years back and I think my dishwasher cleans just as well and I paid $600 less. This model does not have all the bells & whistles of fancier models but it does clean dishes beyond my expectations. I love the sani-rinse as I wash a lot of baby bottles in my dishwasher. The cycle is a little long, and the silverware rack is hard to put back on the door if it is loaded. These are minor inconveniences considering how well it cleans.
