This was our first and only trip to New York. We were only staying one night, so we did not want to liquidate our life-savings on a super luxurious hotel room. After thumbing through a New York travel guide, we found the Wolcott. The review seemed...
The Wolcott Hotel is affordable and located in Midtown Manhattan. If you're not rolling in dough and you want to be close to a touristy area of NYC, this is probably a good choice for you. OVERALL Nothing at the Wolcott is new. From the once grand, ...
Pros: Fairly Cheap, Convenient Location Cons: Small Room, No Electrical Outlet in Bathroom, Smelled, Non-caring Staff, Poor A/C
My husband and I were told by a friend that this was a decent economical hotel. I believe we paid $137 a night and stayed 6 nights. The lobby of the hotel looks rather opulent, but believe me...it ends right there. The elevators are EXTREMELY slow and ...
I was a bit concerned when I made my reservation at the Hotel Wolcott. It seemed as if any hotel in Manhattan for less than $200 a night would be a dump. Nevertheless, $180 a night isn't cheap and I expected a certain level of service for my money. ...
Pros: Fantastic location close to attractions in NYC - Times Square, Empire State Building Cons: Slow elevator
My husband and I stayed at Wolcott hotel in June 2005 for three nights. We booked it because it was a budget hotel, but after reading some reviews about it here and on another site, I was a bit leery. We didn't have any problems with staff, water ...
Pros: Price, location, helpful staff, gift shop sells NY t-shirts Cons: A bit shabby, heater didn't warm up quickly, and the exercise area was almost worthless.
After a long day pounding the streets of NYC a person needs a place to lay their head, right? The Wolcott fits the bill, and rather well for the price.
It all boils down to expectations. I didn't expect to find a well appointed hotel for...
My girlfriend and I decided to head up to NYC for a few days to do some shopping, and we decided that we didn't care where we stayed as long as it was cheap and in a good location. After looking at different websites for a few days we decided on the ...
I recently went to Manhattan for New Year's and after researching hotels online I decided to settle for the Wolcott because it seemed like a good deal for the price.
To start off, I had trouble finding this hotel and when I asked for directions no...
We made reservations in May 2005 for a two-night stay in September 2005. Not only were we given a microscopic room (barely enough room on only one side to get out); hardly even adequate for one person, let alone two! The bathroom was full of roaches. Every time you picked something up, at least three bugs would appear. The front desk people seemed to know nothing about the City -- they could provide no guidance on good places to eat, etc. The advertised breakfast was nothing more than muffins and some bad coffee. There are better places to spend your money!
